58 Plymouth gasser

Steamboat

Recommended Posts

Got this one as a Christmas present.  A member of our local model club asked me what I was going to do with all that chrome, and it made me think of stripping it down and making a gasser.  It took me all of a football playoff game to sand off all the body chrome, which I guess would have been about half the time it would take to do all of the BMF! The paint is airbrushed Createx blue pearl covered with Duplicolor 1K clear, which seems to be a near foolproof combination.  Decals are the "Christine" decals cut up to make "Cretin". The engine is cloned from the AMT Chrysler 392 hemi, but using Dodge rocker covers. Fuel injection stacks are Detail Master (I think) left over from another project. Parts box wheels and tires.  Not too many 3d printed parts this time, just the front end components, gasser headers and the roll bar. Thanks for looking!

Wow, @Steamboat, this is insane awesome. Love your big boat gasser vibe, and you've just inspired me to rip into my 59 Galaxie Starliner and give it a similar treatment. Your "Cretin" moniker is a hilarious pièce de résistance that will be hard to match, let alone beat!
