New project I am working on. The interior is comprised of a "tub" like many old kits. These tubs end up looking too shallow. So I cut away the bottom. Then cut away the hump for the drive-train and glued that to the top of the floor pan and built that up with plastics and bondo. So now it looks like a more realistic depth once its assembled. Will change the bucket seats to a bench seat. Might do a little "what if"ing and build it as a four speed. I dont believe wildcats could be ordered with one at that point in time.

Interesting project, and a big fat YES on the 4-speed. Unless I am building a replica of a specific car, everything I build is manual shift.

Not much progress but scratch-built a mirror. And decided to recreate a 4-speed car. But buick never built one so this will be a one-of-none. What would've they done? I think they would've used the 4-speed console from the skylark. So I scratch-built a crude skylark console.

Wasn't a 3 speed manual available in 69?

I may be wrong,  maybe someone with buick knowledge will chime in.

Yes it did. Probably a column shifter. No manual four speeds.

Alot on my plate lately but decided to update this a little. Had to touchup and re-clearcoat the drivers side. Slowly pecking away at the trim. Interior mostly done. Scratch-built armrests, window cranks etc.

Beautiful paint finish and trim. The interior has a really nice vinyl look and finish.

I really like that. I remember building one of those in 1969. Believe it or not, I have one of those as a current project. I'm working on. I  added the Air Conditioner to the 430, and adding detail to the interior.DSCF2758.jpg.eb36e7b7da2758e5329051ee303644fa.jpgDSCF2747.jpg.dec02eae0d68edf045117f6f2f4c22f2.jpgDSCF2756.jpg.70c568dfbb889524db63e9b3bcb68f21.jpgDSCF2755.jpg.f30be4aa251606b53d6c74019827b431.jpg

Wow, that black really pops! That black is making for a badass Buick, a Wild Cat!

I know last year I mentioned that they only had a 3 speed if you wanted manual. I did dig deeper and found the AMA list for Buick. They had the three speed only as the manual. If you knew someone at Flint or really great friends with the dealer like my grandfather you could order almost anything. So it is possible that a Wildcat could exist out there with a factory four speed. My grandfather had a 69 Buick Skylark Custom that was ordered with all the GS bits underneath but no GS call outs or trim on the body. The dealer put an Olds 442 style fresh air intake mounted under the bumpers. This thing was a sleeper.

This is quite lovely. It's gonna finish great. Eldorado seats?

Thanks. The seats were original, just modified into a bench seat.

This is a cool build. I'm doing a 69 Skylark which was a 3D print I bought on EBAY. I needed a custom interior (and console) so I did the same thing: made my own!

The finish line is in sight now. Just need to dot the Ps and cross the Qs.
