I started this last fall I think and it's finally done after many stumbles and redo's.  I posted some of the early work in the Q&A section but then nothing til now.  It's a resin kit (everything except chassis and running gear) from Diolex (from Ukraine) and I will say everything about it was great, except my inexperience with resin.  I'd do many things differently if I were to build it again.  Mostly the order in which I assembled it.  To me it's a "10 footer", having lots of issues with foiling and repairing a big chunk of resin that came poping off when drilling holes for pinning the side mirrors, after painting and clearing of course.  I always forget to drill those before painting for some reason.  I had the choice of stripping, repairing the missing chunk and repainting, or repair without all that.  It ended up close enough for me and will be in the display case with that door facing away ?.  Otherwise, I did lots and lots of prep sanding the 3d body and probably could have done more.  Again, enough for me.  I used Tamiya Light Gun Metal and Gun Metal sprays and the interior is a light blue.   I ended up making new taillights and their trim and if you saw my earlier posts about the fitment of the front bumper and grille you know I had to do some work there too.  I forget where I got the wheel covers but I thought they looked close enough.  The glass was one of the harder things I had to do.  I really haven't done too much in the past with vacuformed glass and it showed.  I had to cut them closely to make them fit correctly and then attach them.  I then found the chassis I chose didn't fit the greatest to allow the stance to be correct so I needed to dremel parts of the body (thick stuff) to get where I liked the stance.  I added some 1/64 black chart tape to the bumpers and rocker trim.

I'm glad this one is finished.  It's a replica of a 77 Caprice my wife and I bought new, the colors being pretty close to what we had.

Thanks for looking!

Great looking paint finish and this color combination was very popular in that era. The interior pattern looks realistic for the Caprice.

Really nice replica of a popular car through the 80's and even 90's. I wonder why major kit manufacturers never tackled this. Cop cars , taxis, plane jane, sleepers they were everywhere, maybe because there were so many of them they thought  nobody would want a model of such an inconspicuous vehicle. Thanks for sharing.

Nice rendition. Those were great cars, I had 4 station wagons, a '79, an '80 (for parts), an '82 and my last was a '84.

This is beutiful! I have always loved the late 70s thru 80s Caprice. I remember growing up in 90s and early 2000s i knew a few that owned these and they were such nice cars! I love the color combo. I remember one down the road that was copper and light brown i loved it. These are under valued cars. Great job! It makes me wanna tackle that project.
