I have made quite a bit of progress on this one. However I am currently having some issues with uploading pictures. As soon as I fix that problem I will have plenty to show.

Looking forward too them sir, I am liking your build!

Well, while I resolve the issue (tomorrow) I guess I can upload some pics directly. Sorry for the size.

The interior was ,made from some modified pieces from the '31 Coupe kit. Templates were made for custom inserts to be added.

Next, the horns of the frame were cut off together with the front cross member, leaving just a thin vertical piece of it. Then the modified cross member from a '32 5 window as grafted, resulting in a slightly longer wheelsbase.

Experimenting with my first ever 3D printer, I made some through frame exhaust tips. Shrinkage on waterbased resin is ridiculous. Parts were not affected. I cut an opening in the frame rails ahead of the rear wheels to accept the exhaust flange. I am very happy with the look.

The '32 grille from the Rat Roaster is definitely too tall for the '30 firewall, so the back of it was cut down and then the grille shell was filled in with styrene.

More to come...

Thanks for looking and stay tuned.

The engine getting closer to be ready. The block was painted Tamiya yellow, while everything else is Model Master Aluminum non-buffing metalizer.

And finally some paint...

The front and rear suspensions were painted Tamiya Gunmetal, with quick change receiving some Aluminum metalizer to match the motor. Eventually the driveshaft would be painted aluminum too.

The interior panels received their "leather" inserts, which I wanted to look like floating in the panels, so I made them slightly smaller. Still not decided how I feel about them.

A nice bomber style bench seat will actually hide most of the panel details.

The wheels were painted with all Tamiya colors with a technique I kinda created myself and have been using on variety of parts in my builds. They were sprayed grey primer first, followed by flat black, straight from the rattle can. When dry (just an hour or so) I sprayed Tamiya Gold straight from the can again immediately followed by Titanium silver from the can. Those two colors were done in several mist coats alternating one over the other. This way the colors kind of mix by eating into each other right on the part. And right before they were cured I sprayed Tamiya clear matt, which again soaked into the previous layers. The center wingnuts were painted with Mollotow marker. The front tires are almost certainly from the Rat Roaster, while the rears are from the parts box, but if I had to take a guess, they may have come from the Black Widow T-bucket.

I have a couple of well heeled neighbors that are into showing off their rides as a d1(k measuring contest. One of them is all about his signature white, which would include a Ferrari California, A couple Lambos Huracan and Urus and the latest a Tesla truck - the only all white one I have ever seen (even the wheels are white). The other is all about his signature grey, including and AMG GT, a McLaren 720, a Brabus G-wagon and a couple of Porsches. I always liked the subtlety (if there could be such thing with these cars) of the plain grey colors. So I decided that I am going to paint my truck in similar light grey as his Porsche GT3RS. I have to say that I repainted my cab about four times with British, Japanese and US air force colors, followed by an RC color I forgot the name of and still wasn't happy. So Clear coated primer grey it would be, as it is the closest to what I wanted. Mind you, this is the Tamiya FINE grey primer, which is slightly lighter and different shade of grey than their regular grey primer. The grille and the bed are still in just primer, while the cab needed some gloss in order to apply the modified Slixx decals. After that, the same Tamiya yellow used on the engine was blended from the firewall into the decals.

And that's it for now.

Thanks for looking and stay tuned...

Nice work Mozzi. That engine is going to look great in there with the yellow flames. I really like the look of those wheels too.?

Thank you Greg. The engine kinda let to the choice of colors for a lot of the parts. I wanted it to be the center piece of the model without much distraction around it. But I wanted a clean, modern, utilitarian looking Street Rod, still with a somewhat traditional character. Hence the wheels and their color. The bed will have real wood, but something light to blend in and a moon tank. No chrome on this bad boy. The exhaust will be all tucked in and the only dilemma is whether the roof insert should be black or matching grey vinyl. One thing I'm doing for sure and it is a brass knuckles shifter. Originally the idea was the engine to be brass color with the wheels matching and having engine and interior details in the same finish. But I ran into the Slixx decal sheet that I cut pieces of these decals from and then everything changed. I was going to do the whole grille shell in yellow, but then I decided against it as it would be too much. I will probably paint just the grille insert yellow and the trim around it would be the only chrome part on the whole model other than the spinners on the wheels. Maybe a license plate on the back just add balance to a full 360 chrome accent.

You are doing some beautiful work on a fine-looking hot rod. I really like the way you did those wheels, will look really fine with the subtle gray of the body, yellow flames and engine.  Keep those updates coming.

A small update...

Clear coat was just applied and it is curing. This means that this coming week I'll most likely have a rolling chassis. I can't hide my excitement about it. I need to finish this bad boy, so I can finally pay some attention to the two long roof Deuces I have started for the group build off.

That engine is looking mighty slick and I'm diggin the flames.  I'm liking the color choice on the wheels.  Coming along nicely.

Thank you guys. I managed to clear coat everything, but since then it's been on the back burner. I need to finish it up.
