Nice detail work on the engine and a great color choice with excellent an paintjob.

That's going to be one fabulous Fifty-Seven Bob!

I appreciate the kind words dude.

That clear looks like it went down amazing, I know your history with paint and it definitely looks like your doing something right now. The engine also looks cool with the black valve covers, aluminum heads, and the dual quad setup looks great.

Thanks man.  It's always a work in progress and a learning curve on each build.

I just about have the chassis buttoned up plus I got the wheels painted and the body wet sanded and polished.  The interior is cleaned up and will be painted red with black inserts.

Thanks Buddy.  Tamiya Rubber Black.

It's all coming together quite nicely Bob.

I love the copper colored mufflers on the chassis. I forgot that they used to do this, an effect of galvanization if I remember correctly.

Anyway, I'm going to steal your idea for my next build that would have had mufflers like that! ;)

Cheers!

Thank's David.  The process has slowed a bit.

I found a little time this morning before getting after the grass.  There is a lot of bright work so I'm going to go slow on it.

That looks good Bob. Are you using BMF?

David G.

Yup, That's about all I can do today.  To much coffee and my hands are shaking to much.

Great job on that nasty trunk warp. That 57 is going to be gorgeous. I hope you won't mind my stepping on your post, but I have a question for you about the red color. I am currently working on a Tribute car (Modified 2X Eddie Flemke) and was seeking your advice on the paint. Should I use a white primer, or perhaps a Tamiya pink primer? I would appreciate your input. Hope you don't mind the pictures to show that everything is red. Rollbars, frame, interior (check out the pink rollbar padding) and the odd kind of maroon nerf bars. If this much wording and pics are objectionable to you, I will delete it all. But I value your expertise on this.

Thanks.  Your fine with all the pics dude.  I've never used Tamiya’s pink primer so can't comment on that.  If it were me, I'd paint some test spoons and see how the paint looks both ways.

Thanks very much for your input and quick response. And your right, the nice job you're doing on the bright work looks great!

You bet man.

Well...I got the glass in and all the foil work done.  Not my best but it is what it is.  All the chrome was spotty and pitted so I had to strip it all.

Hi Bob, great looking 57 you got here. You just gotta love a bright red 57 Chev, screams classic. The paint looks fantastic, and it looks like you and BMF are friends again! Nicely done. I was not aware of this kit, looks like a good one.

Thank's Steve.  I'm not sure if bmf and I are friends again.  I keep it boxed up so out of sight out of mind :D  This kit was a 1998 release.
