I was able to get my 32 painted earlier today. The color is Tamiya TS-85 Bright Mica Red. It really looks good out in the sun. I can’t wait to see what it looks like when I clear it.

I cleared everything today on the 32 Tudor and it looks really really good in the sun. It’s a little hard to see in this picture, but you can see a little bit of the pearl in this picture.Gonna give it a little time to cure and and paint the roof insert and running boards black next week.

Looking good! I’ve used Mica Red twice and in both cases over Duplicolor (dark) gray sandable primer as an accent color. It’s interesting to see over a lighter primer on your Tudor how BRIGHT it can be.

Thanks Dennis! It definitely looks brighter over a lighter primer.

I recently stocked up on some Tamiya rattle cans...both Mica Red and Bright Mica Red among them. Just curious...did you use the Tamiya Clear ? I read some stuff online here about how careful you have to be with the Tamiya Clear coat. How long a wait did you give the red before clear coating? Did you build up mist coats before the wet coat of clear ?

On the last couple of models I have built, I’ve been using Duplicolor 1K clear.I started having problems with Tamiya Clear.Usually when I paint a model,I wait until the next day to clear the body.I always build up a few mist coats of clear before laying down any wet coats of clear

I have found Tamiya LP clear tends to eat into the colour coats an you end up with a less than stunning clear coat often to te point where it looks like semi-gloss clear. It is better when you let the colour gas out for a couple of weeks or more before hitting it with clear in the method above. It should not be like this with lacquer. Enamel yes, (Tamiya) lacquer no. I am going to try 2K next to see if it is better as I am not happy with Tamiya LP colour and clear coat almost to the point where I will go back to shooting enamels as I have done for 50+ years as I have got (mostly) very good results. I do like the convenience of LP paints but not always the end result at this point. A rant but this is a "forum"

Happy Sunday everyone, I got home from church this morning and decided it’s time to glue up the frame into the body and fender assembly. I just had to mock this up. The stance is right where I want it. Enjoy.? cheers?

Very nice. I like the color and I am pretty sure I have a can, altho I have not used it yet.

Now that the ACME show is behind me, I can concentrate on finishing my long roof Deuce, trying to keep up with the fantastic models on display in this thread.

Last week I wet sanded the body and exterior parts with 1500 and re-primed. One wet coat just enough to cover for a super smooth finish. I also received a fresh can of paint in the mail.

Today I masked the roof insert and sprayed the body and related parts with my fresh can of Tamiya TS88 Titanium Silver. Turned out really nice. Tomorrow, clear coat.

That colour is killer Dennis. Your engine is really going to pop with that as the background!
