I can tell you where the problem is and why it will take you forever, if ever, to achieve that curve. I only know, because I have done the same thing before. Your putty is interacting with the plastic beneath which is sagging every time you add a new coat. You have one of two solutions to fix that. 1. Seal everything with a generous coat of 2k primer, which will create a barrier. 2. Use an epoxy putty that does not interact with everything underneath. Otherwise you are gonna chase your tail for a long time. 2
carnut Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 (edited) Here is my update : I finally got some time at the workbench today. I went ahead forward and I’ve got my padded roof insert done and my padded running boards done as well. The last photo is the inspiration for this build. And as you can tell, I’m building this as a sedan delivery. Thanks for looking cheers Edited July 22, 2024 by carnut 6
bill-e-boy Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Been beavering away at my build. I have had two model shows in two weekends so thing have slowed a bit Rear seats tubbed and interior now in paint I have done some work on a Parts by Parks steering column by replacing the blobby gear lever with a new unit with a turned tapered indicator knob And I have replaced the Vicky brake booster with a new unit turned up in my lathe. The original just did not look good after I cut it away from the chassis X-member Other work happening so if you want an update of more work be sure to check my original post - "32 Sedan - Chopped" 4
bill-e-boy Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Sorry original post should read "32 Tudor - Chopped'' Cheers Bill-e-boy 1

Kit Karson Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Playing with Big & Little Tyres on '41 Lincoln Rims: Will look better when tucked under the fenders... Same set of Rims & Tyres on the Gangster! -KK 3
bill-e-boy Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 Kit - what an outrageous build I vote for the wires with the big and bigger white walls. Pity the rears weren't a bit fatter 1
Chris B Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 Hey Kit where did you get the smoothies on the black sedan I am collecting up parts for a future build. The 39 Chev sedan delivery and that look exactly like what I am after 1

Rocking Rodney Rat Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 I've pretty much got the interior dialed in. Door panels, seats and headrests are from two sets from the Speedwagon. The blue part of the dash and gauge panel is from the Revell '37 convertible. Gear shift is from the Revell '32 5ive window coop. The steering wheel is from the Revell '41 Willys. I have a chrome (billet) version on the way in the post. I fear I'm getting dangerously close to throwing paint?..... -RRR 10

When done Wright I think they can add to the appeal I even saw a Pop with a tilt front with the little over fenders they kept the engine bay clean and free from dirt. I've even started looking around for them in 1/24 scale so that I can add them to one of my future builds Edited July 27, 2024 by Chris B 1

SpikeSchumacher Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Here is my current WIP for this topic. Started it a few weeks before this build-off began, then set it aside for another project. Cheers 8
Dennis Lacy Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 Spent this afternoon getting the details sorted on my Tudor. Basically ready to start the paint process! Just need to decide on color. Hightlights: Complete chassis, engine firewall, grill shell and radiator from current Revell 32 Roadster. Rear lowered 3” in scale. Wheels and rear large radial tires from Revell 32 Hi Boy Roadster (which are in the new Sedan reissue) with front tires with matching tread from Revell 40 Fords . Drag City Casting 3.5” scale chop top body (master by me). 32 Sedan complete interior. 32 Sedan stock taillights tucked back instead of out at the tips of the frame. Super easy kit bashing on this one in hopes of finishing it by the deadline. 13
mrm Posted July 29, 2024 Author Posted July 29, 2024 Some great work on here. I’m seeing all these great builds and I’m starting to realize that I am falling way far behind. And I have four other models I’m trying to finish in the same time frame. This will be tough… 3 1

Rocking Rodney Rat Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 All parts have been sanded down with 1000 grit and have been washed and dropped into the dehydrator to dry... -------------------------------- I'm planning on a mix of Testors Extreme Icy Blue and Turquoise shot through the airbrush with a two-tone grey interior... More later.... -RRR 8
