How come nobody has built this kit? Is it due to how rare it is? It is based on the Snaptite Offroader Datsun, due to the bed, cab, and other parts being very similar to that kit. If anyone has built it, I would like to see your build of it here!

i recommend you build it, since nobody has seemed to build one yet on the internet.

Looks like you have some great wheels for it too!

Go ahead and build it. I'm not sure if it is 'rarity' or just age. It is a very old kit now, and the guys who built it when it first came out, are not young anymore.

Let us know how it builds.

Good Luck!

Well, let us know what you think when you get one, then.

I built one back in the day. Not a great kit, but I was an 'enthusiastic' builder and had fun with it. No idea what happened to it. Probably lost in a move a long time ago. I also built the off road version and distinctly remember tearing it up for parts.

I don't think rarity is what keeps people from building it.

It could have possibilities but first thing I'd have to do would be get rid of those 4X4 fender flares.

I'd build it happily, if I had one. Kinda odd looking, but paint it something other than Pink, it it might look pretty cool.

G'day Gibert, here is some information on this kit through www.scalemates.com They have all the information on almost every kit ever made and a time line for each kit.

Cheers,

David. ??

I suspect that the bright pink plastic is a factor in why we don't see more of these built.  One look at it and I see the danger that unless I paint it pink or black, the pink die will leach out of the plastic and ruin a paint job.

My cousin built this kit back when it was new. At the time we shared a build space. When he abandoned the hobby I inherited it, but as a pile of parts. recently I started finding the parts scattered through all of my sorted parts boxes and gathered together what I could find, thinking about doing a retro 80's sport truck build out of it.

A coat of silver paint should keep the pink from bleeding through. At least that is what others have said on this forum for red plastic.

Zinsser BIN will also work.
