BigBad Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Wow, it's been a while since I posted anything here! Been busy with Facebook to be honest. I got to go through some pages and decided to post my latest. This is an AMT Chevy Titan from a few years back, not the latest issue. I wanted a steerable front axle and some fancier wheels, so I stole the whole suspension and drivetrain from a Transtar 4300. The rear suspension and axles are almost identical, you just have to sand off the IH logo. I wanted a dual axhaust setup and dual snorkels too, but didn,t like the kit's configuration, so I reversed the stacks on to make the mufflers face outwards and stole the filter and snokel from another Titan kit I have. I wanted the big grille front end and used the photo-etched parts from CTM inside and out. Pretty easy to use if you have the tools to bend the parts. The paint is Tamiya bright white and Scale finishes 1969 Chevrolet Glacier blue. I also replaced the 8V71 with an 8V92T to justify the exhaust setup. I lowered the cab about 3mm to make it sit properly and that made all kinds of interferences under the cab and turbo setup from the new engine so I had to redo the exhaust inlet pipe to the turbo and the intake pipe and the cab was glued onto its front hinges. The stripes are from the Smokey and the Bandit GMC General that I got from Modeltruckin. It was an up and down journey for this one but finished on a high note for me. 10

I appreciate them, and they show this build is on another level! I don’t think I’d have the guts to show that level of detail on one of my builds! ?.You hit this one out of the park Robert! The details and workmanship are amazing. 2

The bigger pictures will make every little mistake show up! I'm happy with this build, finally! 1
vincen47 Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 One of the best, if not the best Titan I’ve seen. Your corrections and modifications, along with the aftermarket details and parts, including great wheels and tires, all take it to the next level. Simply beautiful! 1
happy grumpy Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 A lot of eye candy in this build and a lot of work too. All those small details really make a difference. Great photography. 1
BigBad Posted July 21, 2024 Author Posted July 21, 2024 Thanks for the kinds words! This build took a lot of time to finish, I was having trouble with some plumbing under the cab preventing it from sitting level! Fixed the pipe from the exhaust manifold to the turbo and the shifter tower and all fell back into place. That was a challenging but rewarding build! 1
Nacho Z Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 Very nice, Robert! Such a clean build and great colors as well! 1
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 Beautiful build! So much detail! Excellent work!! 1
ABC Auto Industry Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Very nice work! It's not often you see people do builds of the Astro SS/Titan SS, so this is a unique build to be sure! 1
OldTrucker Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Thought I could smell the diesel ! Looks almost real! Outstanding job on an old AMT kit! 1
