ModelcarJR Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 I saw one of these in the latest issue of Model Car Magazine in the 24 hour build section. I remembered that I had one of these in the closet! So I dug it out - a Blueprinter special from 35 years ago. So I already have my entries for next week's show completed and written-up so I thought I would just go ahead and build this one for grins. I don't have many WIP photos since this one moved pretty quick so I'll post them here. I had to do a little body work on the sink marks so it looks a little better. The paint is Dupli-Color Flash Red and Krylon Satin Sand Dollar (Tan). I preferred the tan to the white on this one. Its built box stock except for the Fireball Modelworks Goodyear decals that I added and sanded off the raised letter Goodyear on the tire. It went together surprisingly well but of course the chassis and engine were a bit disappointing and simple with metal axles. But nonetheless, it built looks pretty good for such an old kit. Thanks for looking! ? 4
bisc63 Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 Nice job! Agree the tan looks better and less harsh than white against that gorgeous red.
PappyD340 Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 Great looking Monkee mobile, I like the tan better too, well done!
XYHARRY Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 Great looking Monkee Mobile there John, really well done. Cheers, David ??
Falcon Ranchero Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 The Monkees' custom GTO is such a neat machine. It would be cool to have a model of it. Awesome job on thisun.
drodg Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 Fun! We sometimes need a quick fairly trouble free build. Good job.
espo Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 Great looking finishes and like the tan top and interior better than the white.
ModelcarJR Posted July 19, 2024 Author Posted July 19, 2024 Thanks, All! I appreciate your comments! ?
karbuildr Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 Great looking build, and like the others mentioned, the light colored tan looks better than white. Very well done.
