BIGTRUCK Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 This started out as the original AMT 3 in 1 1957 Thunderbird kit that someone started and was given to me by a member on this board Joe Phillips. The original builder had sanded all lines (doors, trunk and hood) and filled in with putty. Front and rear treatments were glued on and puttied also. The chassis was painted and hood was glued shut so I left it as a curbside The body and interior were never painted but body had some pretty deep scratches that needed a putty skim coat. After the body was sanded as smooth as it was going to be and primered , it got a few coats of Inca Gold metallic with a few coats of clear. I found the actual kit skirts and bubble headlights and grille. A scrap Sillouette kit donated the bubble top. Steering wheel, shifter, tires, hubcaps, scoops, spots, decals and taillights are parts box. Builders that did these styline customs in the 60's came up with some pretty wild builds. I was glad to save this one. 9
