The young Buck that has been going for the Apples out back, was startled because I was out front crouched down working on rocks.

Never have seen such large mushrooms before.  A website declares that they will not determine if they are "Destroying Angel" poisonous at all, just assume all are.
I picked the upside down last night, and the other had grown.

Cool bird. Looks similar to the flickers we see around here. 

We have finches and orioles that try to use the hummingbird feeders.

Native more or less just to the Arizona Sonoran desert and on down into northern Mexico / Baja Peninsula. They're one of the birdies that create "saguaro boots," but when I looked that up just now, I learned that it's a long range planning thing, where the pecked-out area lining within the saguaro doesn't harden up for at least a year to provide a nest area to live in.
