TopherMcGinnis Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 While I was out of town recently I picked up this kit to work on in the hotel. Not doing anything real crazy, but I do want to use the Lazy Modeler flame mask to flame it. Any pointers? 2
TopherMcGinnis Posted September 7, 2024 Author Posted September 7, 2024 Createx Wicked Black over Mr. Surfacer primer. 2
TopherMcGinnis Posted September 7, 2024 Author Posted September 7, 2024 I've got to say, if you haven't tried Turbo Dork paints-DO IT! The Lazy Modeler masks are amazing. 7
nickfzr61 Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 (edited) Nice flames. This was one of the kits I used for my 55 TLB build. Edited September 8, 2024 by nickfzr61 1
Bullybeef Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Yowzers those flames look incredible over that beautiful ultra inky black! 1

David G. Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 I'll have to look into those masks, the seem to work really well. It looks like the paint laid down quite nicely too. You have a great start on a cool looking roadster. David G. 1

You’ll need to drill out the axle ends to accept the metal pins and gluing the wheels on the Buick drums requires patience while letting the car rest on its side until the glue sets. Other than that great work! 1
TopherMcGinnis Posted September 8, 2024 Author Posted September 8, 2024 WOW!!!!!! I'm enthralled with this paint! 5
David G. Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 It's even prettier in sunlight! David G. 1

TopherMcGinnis Posted September 9, 2024 Author Posted September 9, 2024 Since this whimsical build/trial flame job has happened so quickly, I didn't think the color/combination all the way through. I can't think of which color to paint the interior ? Any suggestions? 2
SpikeSchumacher Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 You could do anything from black, to grey, to teal, to purple, or any combination thereof... 1

It would move it forward into the current 20’s builds 1 1

Moparman18064 Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 I love it. Being that it is black, you could go with almost any color, except maybe, yellow. That would clash too much IMO.

I'm going to play with gray and turquoise this evening ? 1
DJMar Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 Those flames are looking mighty tasty! ?? 1
