Greetings All,

After a summer of helping friends working on their, and my 1/1 scale older, (collector?), cars, thought it was time to get back to the model bench.

Picked this piece up off Ebay last winter for a 'decent' price with a few minor parts missing, but it was not started.  (Thank God)

I've seen several folks on this site do a great job building this car and keeping close to what Renwal and Mr. Exner intended it to be so,.....I decided to go in a slightly different direction.

This is as far as I got last spring before turning off the workbench light.  Starting up this weekend and will be sending more WIP pics.

Thanks for looking!

Very cool giving it your own spin. I dig the double thin whitewalls. I've seen this kit around before but didn't realize how Nailhead-esque the engine is. Cool to see the double distributor setup wired up.

Glad you painted it something other than green- great job so far! Looking for ward to more!

Thanks Paul.  It seems the green was becoming quite common in the builds.  Needed something different, but still 1960's.

Thanks Craig, the engine detail was really disappointing. But then, the whole kit was crying out for more TLC.  With such a big engine bay the engine really needed some help.

Interior photo coming soon!

Next step completed.  Interior finished.  Added rear speaker grills, telephone under dash, turn signal stalk and auto trans shift stalk.  Also drilled out holes in steering wheel.

Thanks for looking!

Nice rendering by Joe of this very old concept car kit.  I can remember building the Packard when it was first issued way back, but nowhere near to the standard of Joe's model as back then I had only started model making.

The Renwall moulds for the Virgil Exner Classic Concept Cars have probably long gone !

It would be very nice if someone could either take copies of and replicate those kits in resin or draw up and 3D print new ones.

Gregory.

I have been looking for a Renwall Bugatti for ages to build or even rebuild It from a built up model that has seen better days, detail it up and give it to the Bugatti Trust Museum here in the UK for permanent display.

Renwall Bugatti kits are  quite scarce these days, so I am a little surprised at what you intend to do with your kit. If you change your mind and the project idea becomes abandoned, I would be interested to know what you will be doing with the kit. If so please PM me.

Finally finished!

After a bit of struggling to get the body, interior, and chassis together as one......Done!

This definitely is a 'Land Yacht'.

Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Wow that is beautiful that came out awesome.! I wish someone would redone that line up and in modern tooling, but it would be off the charts in cost today even in 3D printing they would run a lot I had bought them as a kid and over the years they got lost or destroyed in moves.!

Very nice work . This has got to be about the nicest rendition of a Renwal Revival I have seen. The added details really bring it alive, and the colour choices are suitably elegant. Looks like a fun build. Lovely model.

Joe you upped the classiness of this kit with your color choice IMO!  Fantastic job.
