Deathgoblin Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 This one is a recovered glue bomb, so she's not perfect but I'm pretty happy with the results. When I started, she was badly painted, there was glue on pretty much every surface, 3 of 4 wheels were broken off, the rear suspension was installed upside down outside the leaf springs, one headlight was missing... Etc. I pulled some parts off an unsalvageable Torpedo Phaeton. I used an Xacto chisel to cut the engine mounts so I could rebuild and paint the engine, then drilled and pinned it all back together. The colors are Tamiya pearl green and racing green. 10
bbowser Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Nice save! The colors look true to the period, these were impressive machines.
Richard Bartrop Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Nicely done. Those old Monogram kits still look good.
ncbuckeye67 Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Beautiful restoration! It reminds me of my trip to the Auburn/Cord/ Deusenberg Museum in Indiana.
NOBLNG Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 A car well worth saving, and you did a terrific job Brian!??
XYHARRY Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 Great save Brian, those colours look good too. Well done. Cheers, David. ??
mrm Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 This could easily be used as a prop in a Great Gatsby movie. Gorgeous!
espo Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 Great looking paint colors and finishes especially considering what you had to start with. Lots of great looking chrome trim and finishes.
