I think they be having issues again. I agree with that. If only I had a local hobby shop. I was spoiled as a kid as I had three of them within walking distance and three more a short ride away. Closest one I have is an hour away and it caters to RC stuff.

I have two hobby shops on the same street a half block from one another.
Rattlecan Dan Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 Zip, your usual amount of beautiful body work and trim. I am not liking that metallic. Sorry.

Bronzekeg Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 I ordered 6 packs of bmf from mega hobby a few years ago and every sheet was wrinkled and wouldn't stick. I managed to cuss 2 65 bonnevilles with it and decided to quit building cars with trim on account of it. I thought it was just me getting burnt with bum sheets. your work looks great as usual Bob!

Thanks man. Yeah, that was a bad time when the bmf company was having difficulties with their vendor. The bright Chrome I've been using is fine so I guess this pack of Matte Aluminum had been hanging there for some time.
Zippi Posted November 24, 2024 Author Posted November 24, 2024 Well....I was looking over the 50 Olds this morning to see what is left to do and I do not see the door handles. I painted all the bright chrome an Ultra Black Chrome and I can't remember if I painted the door handles or not. I don't even see the chrome tree with the numbers on it. So, I'm assuming I through away the tree. I normally don't throw anything away until I have totally finished a build. But, I guess I did. Couldn't find anything in the parts box that looked right so this build is going to the back of the bench until I can come up with some replacement door handles.
espo Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 The door handles would be on the chrome tree in the kit if that's any help.
Kenmojr Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 Despite your issues with bmf, I think you did a fantastic job. I would love to see you finish this beauty. Shaking is an issue I have with my photography, only cure is to shot with a fast shutter speed or when I can not, a steady tripod. At 70, my eyesight is not as sharp as it was when in my 30s. Keep at it Bob, you do marvelous work on whatever kit you tackle or tinkles your fantasy. Many cheers from Nova Scotia...

I appreciate the kind words Buddy. I'll drag it across the finish line but I'm now trying to put things away outside for the winter like the rain barrel, water hoses, concrete bird baths, rug on the back porch, flower pots, etc. 1
Zippi Posted December 1, 2024 Author Posted December 1, 2024 Well, the Holidays are over so I got out here this morning and decided to shoot the 2K clear on the Swamp Cooler and the visor. I'll let this set for a few day to cure out then start the final assemble on this build. 2
