nickfzr61 Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 (edited) Finished up my Diamonds ar Forever Mach1. This was a very nice kit as most here know. Only issue is I wasn’t happy with the decals. They didn’t have the black circles for the hubcaps and some cut off some of the lettering. Also some of the engine compartment labels are not visible. Especially the decals on the battery. Other than that it was a very nice kit. I really have to work on my wetsanding and polishing. I’m afraid I’m going to sand through the clear and color coats so I didn’t get the finish as smooth as I would have liked. WIP here: Thanks for looking. Edited November 3, 2024 by nickfzr61 18
vamach1 Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 Very nicely done. I see you added the “ram air” plenum which I wish had been included in the Boss 351 so it would be an option for his kit. From extensive research done the main car used in the movie that Sean Connery drove was a 429 automatic without the ram air option. Since the kit has the Ram Air only air cleaner you did a nice job replicating the under hood piece with the vacuum motors that open and close the flaps in the hood scoops. I hope Revell will do an Eleanor version so there will be the standard hood so it will be easy to make a sprint sportsroof version with decals from Rays Kits or Keith Marks.
vamach1 Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 When I built the Revell of Germany version I believe it had the hubcap black ring decals. However the price of the kit was double it was in the US and the only difference is the decal sheet and the paints included. 2
