I picked up this builder a couple of years ago , it was in nice condition and missing only a few small parts . Missing was the steering tie-rod and those bumper "darts" which were both easily fabricated , one headlight and the gas cap which I cast using parts from a Pinto Street Rod kit , and an alternator and license plate that were scrounged from the parts box .

I used the clear glass from the Pinto Street Rod kit and tinted it green using Testors Candy Green spray paint .  The bright green plastic was polished and cleared and I printed my own "Poison Pinto" decals and stripe decals . Also added were tire decals from Gofer Racing . It's otherwise stock except I narrowed the front track to get the tires inside the fender flares . A quick and fun rebuild , hope you like it !

I swapped out the kit carbs for a couple of Holley 1850's from the AMT '69 Torino , added a MAD distributor & coil , and printed Boss 429 Decals for the valve covers .

I built one as a teen, when it was a new kit.  Please don't tell me what eBay prices are now.  That's cool how you are taking modern techniques to resurrect a model, very impressed.  Mine got demo derbied, some parts made into other hack jobs. ?

Clean build as always from your bench. I've always overlooked that kit in the past but you have given me a new appreciation for it.

Thanks much Craig !  I never had much interest in this either (or the Rat Vega) but after digging this out and looking it over again I changed my mind .

Thanks much Kurt !  I found this one when prices were still reasonable , now they're way out of reach !
