leafsprings Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 (edited) An older GMC conversion that is almost entirely made up of aftermarket pieces, unfortunately, most are not all still in business. Grill and hood are Modelhaus, 305 V6 engine with fender emblem and western type mirrors were from Rookie Resin. Tires were from Scenes Unlimited, and flatbed is an older Herb Deeks piece. Wheels are Checkers Wreckers. Edited November 17, 2024 by leafsprings 13
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 Very nice. I really like seeing hard working trucks modeled so well. 1
slusher Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Great looking GMC,Some of those ton trucks was 6 cylinders. Really like your clean build! 1
bobss396 Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I drove an old GMC tow truck with the V6... great power but it loved gas. I may do something similar since I have some 3D printed GMC conversion pieces.
ncbuckeye67 Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 That's awesome! It shows off your scratch-building skills rather nicely. 1
Carmak Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Nice looking rig. Really like the V-6 and the line for the hydraulic clutch. 1
Zippi Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 I'm diggin this build. Lot of kewl stuff going on here Tommy. I like the 10X10 white pine lumber on the bed. Very nicely done. 1

My brother Bill made the Masters for the Grille and Hood for Modelhaus back in the late 80s and Don casted them for years. Bill also made the Master for the 2 ton Chevy C60 for him as well as the 60s GMC Tailgate inserts. Bill used the GMC letters for the grille from a toy I had 😂. Glad to see Bill’s stuff still being used. Edited December 20, 2024 by Pete68

I have always been impressed with Modelhaus pieces, they were the gold standard in aftermarket, we were lucky to have Bill's awesome one of kind pieces available at one time. 1

I still have a couple of Don’s parts one is a chrome 1967 C10 Chevy grille and a 1964 Chevy long pickup bed. Bill has done some amazing work in the Resin field over the decades but I will always like the Castings that Don did for Bill they we’re smooth as glass like his Kenworth 900l and Peterbilt 379 he had Don cast these up for years. Now 3d resin has taken over and the old build by scratch Masters like Bill did in the old days are about gone. Bill has received several new Kenworth kits from Global Trucks and he’s says there’s no way his old Resin Casted trucks can compare to Global’s standards.
