Falcon Ranchero Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Well, here it is. Picked it up in downtown St. Ignace this past October and it was the only one in stock. This is AMT's "Polyglas Gasser II". Started the build on Sunday, finished last night; pretty quick build; though I actually tried to take a slower pace, painting the most detailed interior since my 1965 Bonneville, and actually waiting a day for paint and glue to dry. Took two photos of it last night in our "Winter Scene" that we display on our hope chest for Christmas. But this morning I took it to my grandma's house, displaying it on the '60s furniture, and took it out into the snow. Total was 29 photos, but here's 27. Really photogenic car. This is the first kit I built that when chrome valve covers were an option, I didn't use them. I wanted a nice, simple stock look, and so the same colour valve covers were used, and they look good under the hood. The kit came with white letter tires, white wall tires, and bonus redlines, but I wanted plain black wall tires, and so these were sourced from my 1977 Pinto kit. 9
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Great 421 Pontiac. Great trim work and the car looks fast. 3
Rattlecan Dan Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Cool build. A real sleeper (except for the " this dog bites" NHRA bumper sticker). Nice job. 1
espo Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Beautiful looking paint and color. I'm a fan of the subject and like how you painted the optional Ventura interior. The chrome body trim looks nice and cleanly done. 1
iwantmodels Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Really nice build. Beautiful color combo. 1
Radretireddad Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Nice job. This is one of the lowest priority kits I have because of all the masking and multiple colors required to get the interior correct. I’ll get to it eventually. 1
karbuildr Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Very nice Poncho. It's a great kit, and yours looks good n the color you chose. The snow pics are very cool. 1
AMT68 Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Very nice clean build and I like the overall color scheme/appearance of this Pontiac. Saw this earlier in the day and it inspired me to pick up the latest reissue of this kit. Thanks for posting. 1
ncbuckeye67 Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Very nice! Definitely has that classic sleeper look about it. 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Always liked these in full scale. Model looks great, especially the no-nonsense steel wheels. 1
Street Rod Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Great looking Pontiac! The different backgrounds really make it stand out, especially the snow. 1
Geno Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Love dem Tin Indians. You killed it on this one. Absolutely fantastic. 💯👍😎 1
STU111 Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Lots of nice detail work on this one. Good stuff. 👍🏻 I like these old Pontiacs. We only got the 4 door ones in Australia though. 1
Andrew McD Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 This one really looks the part! Very nicely done and I also think the snow pics really show the car at its best. Well done! 1
johnyrotten Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Very nice build. I like the no frills look and big power under the hood. Well done! Great photos as well, I'm horrible in the department. 1
