shoopdog Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Just finished up this Academy 1/48 scale kit my wife had given me for Christmas. It’s a great kit that was a fun build that looks good displayed with my other warbirds. I will say and I’m probably one of the few that I’m not a big fan of PE parts. All paint is Tamiya spray cans except for the tail section which is a mix of Apple Barrel acrylics brushed on. Thanks for looking and any feedback welcomed. 5
bamadon Posted January 30 Posted January 30 That looks great. I'm a big fan of those colorful prewar paint schemes. Don R 1

Think that is the accurate miniatures kit. 👍👍
mustang1989 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 You pulled off a great job with that bird Keith. Sometimes PE can be kind of rough but it does add a bit more depth into a build. Have you tried the Quinta Studios 3D decals for instrument panels and cockpit details on some of these birds? Wanna talk about adding a whole new level of detail in the pit area!! I used to use PE for instrument panels and consoles but with these Quinta Decals.....that is a thing of the past. This is some outstanding work on this F3F here bud.

Wild Child Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Great build. I love the old bi-planes, especially the more uncommon ones. Colors look nice. 1
