BIGTRUCK Posted February 16 Posted February 16 This original MPC kit was found in the box as I was looking for something else . I almost had this one done a few years back, all it needed was install the chrome accesories and put on the decals and somehow it got shuffled out of sight. I think my minds shuffled too😀.I left off the 'POLICE' decal that was to go on the hood as I did the hood in semi gloss .It would probably look nicer with more engine detail , wires etc, but at my age I want to try and build most of what I collected through out the years so I need to speed it up some.. 14
espo Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Great clean looking build. The Smokey logos sort of says it all.
stavanzer Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Awesome to see this kit built! Since Round2 just released another version of the Dodge, I wish they could find the few Unique "Smokey" parts and add them back to the kit.

ncbuckeye67 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 That looks amazing! I love to see the older "Holy Grail" kits actually built.
Bainford Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Cool! Nicely done. It's good to see one of these built. This was one of my favourite kits when I was young.
ea0863 Posted February 20 Posted February 20 What a blast from the past! This was one of the first models I built as a kid, and seeing this one makes me want to go out and immediately get another one Yours came out great - - - equal parts cop car, and screaming hot rod.
Rattlecan Dan Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Won't be too many outrunnin' that one. Nice build.
Jim Whalen Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Good choice of topic, and the build has turned out nicely. If you want a semi-gloss finish on the hood with a decal you could use a glossy finish as usual to avoid silvering and then shoot a coat of satin clear over once the appropriate amount of drying time has passed.
satterwhite78 Posted February 21 Posted February 21 I remember having that kit! Looks better than what mine turned out at that time!
