Pierre Rivard Posted March 2 Posted March 2 You're moving fast on this one. Come to think of it everybody builds fast compared to me... Regardless the quality shines through. Beautiful mix of colors and textures for the interior and the engine has a very realistic mix of metalizers and weathering. So much can be achieved with good paint effects with skills like your's. 1
W-409 Posted March 4 Posted March 4 I also saw the video some time ago and never knew that Dan drove one of those. Glad to see a scale version of that car being built, and you're doing an excellent job so far with it. Can't wait to see more progress. 1
Belugawrx Posted March 4 Author Posted March 4 Thank you both for dropping in, I appreciate the comments. I need to stop looking at the detail pics of the actual car, there just isn't enough room in the engine bay for my sausage fingers to get in there....anyways Update Engine and rad are installed Scratched up a rad expansion tank, fuel feed, coolant lines, and had to extend the upper rad hose ( not painted yet) double hose clamps should look after that. More next time Cheers 5
porschercr Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Excellent work. I have the same kit, so will look at yours again, for reference when I build mine. Trevor 1
MarkJ Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Looking good, Bruce. Engine bay looks awesome. She's real fine, that 409. 1

Belugawrx Posted March 22 Author Posted March 22 The new phonebook's here the new phonebook's here !!! TJ (JollySipper) really came through for this build, and sent me all the chrome and glass needed to continue.... Thanks so much TJ ..and guys, get down to that 'Wanted' section and see if you can help someone out. 1
Belugawrx Posted May 3 Author Posted May 3 Ok, I chased that squirrel out of here, back to Dan's Impala.. Getting some BMF work done,.. unfortunately it is of the none sticky variety, very frustrating... My idea is to get it all on as best as possible, and then clearcoat the whole thing....we'll see... Gerry @Exotics_Builder was kind enough to send me a 1:25 figure which got modified with a new head from GF models in Greece, and some scratchbuilt driving goggles More to follow Cheers 2

I hear ya there Mark...this stuff doesn't stick at all...I remember the same problem about 10 years ago, but thought they would have fixed it by now. Anywho... Got it into clear Alclad Aqua Clear Gloss 3 coats, Testor clear parts glued in the glass, and worked on the bumpers and grilles ... Foil and paint needs some touch up I see... lol Needs a bungy up front and some tape on the headlights. Going to put some Silverstone starting lines on the base, and print some license plates, and send Dan and his Impala over to 'Under Glass' Thanks for looking in Cheers 1
MarkJ Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Bruce, looks like you did a great job on the foil. How did you get it to stick? 1

But I did get it to lay down eventually and then I just hit it with multiple coats of Clear...and as long as you don't touch it ...ever...it should be ok

When will we see this excellent build in the showroom? That small version of Dan adds so much to the build.
