karbuildr Posted February 22 Posted February 22 According to Scalemates, this kit was first released in 1998. I thought it was a little earlier than that but they are the recognized authority. In any event, that would be when I first built this kit. It was airbrushed with MCW Enamel Panther Pink/Moulin Rouge, with no clearcoat. This was the original MCW and I believe a different enamel than is currently being sold. It airbrushed very nicely at the time over light grey primer. The build went fine with no issues, except when it was completed, I misplaced the instructions and decal sheet. So, I packed it away and forgot about it. I did build other versions later on, but those were Pro Shop kits. When I moved 10 years ago and downsized to a smaller home, the finished kit, thanks to the moving company, was heavily damaged, along with numerous others. Recently, while looking for something else, I came across the original decals and instruction sheet. I proceeded to rebuild the kit, using its original parts and a few new ones from a recently purchased issue of the kit. Since I had the original 27 year old decals, and new backups, I thought I’d give the originals a try. Surprisingly, the original decals went on, although they didn’t want to cooperate, and were actually very difficult. Nonetheless, after all those years it’s finally complete. I realize now that I could have done some details a bit better, but it’s really not bad for its age. Thanks for looking. 19

DJMar Posted February 23 Posted February 23 That is one sweet Duster. The color combination is killer. Honestly, what Mopar doesn't look good in Panther Pink? This is one of my favorite AMT kits of that era.
Nacho Z Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I’ve always had a soft spot for Dusters. My step sister had one and would let me drive it. Love the color and paint job. She is a looker for sure!
espo Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Still a great looking paint finish even after all this time. Like the engine detailing.

STU111 Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Great looking little Duster! Nice colour choice, the Mopars always look great in the high impact shades. 👍🏻
happy grumpy Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Sweet looking Duster. Doesn't show it's age at all and , if I may say so " pretty in pink"😊
