A simple curbside build starting with an old Ben Hobby 935-78 kit off Tamiya tools. I converted it to 1981 specs Joest Racing chassis 1 with a Classic Resin conversion kit and Indycal decals. The Tamiya/Ben Hobby 935-78 was motorized kit so I cut out the battery box and rebuilt the interior to look a bit more like it should.

Paint finishes brush painted. Vallejo primer, color and clear. Decals sealed with Holloway House Quick Shine

Great looking Group 5 racer in this seldom seen livery, Pierre. (I saw the Martini works version at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart almost 3 weeks ago)

Sometimes you need easier kits in between your difficult stratchbuilding efforts.

Great build Does a Moby Dick have anything to do with the Penthouse Sponsorship? 😂

Great looking Porsche.  Very well done.

Thanks Jim. If you like the 935 this is the ultimate one.

Exact, this easy build refreshes and I really wanted this specific car on my shelf. Win-win!

A beautiful car well done Pierre.

A nice palate cleanser between your hyper detailing / scratchbuilding.

Cheers

You called it exactly Bruce. I admire guys who do back to back high detail projects but I can't do it. I am now ready fo a challenge.

Super looking model, Pierre.  Excellent paint job!

Thanks Ken. A most simple curbside build but I really like the presence it has on the shelf.

Nice conversion Pierre...very well executed.

Thanks Rich. The resin pieces were not the best quality but the conversion went well nevertheless.

I saw this car at a Brainerd IMSA race.  Moretti made his famous spaghetti for the paddock Friday night but we had to bring our own wine.  Almost bought a Penthouse T-shirt but the Penthouse Pet that was wearing it might have caught a cold giving me hers.

The car was almost perfect for the mile long Brainerd main straight

Turned out really nice.

I have a couple of the Ben Hobby 936 Turbo Martini kits and have been curious about how they build up.

Incredibly basic, but should look good on the shelf when done. Like yours!

Makes me want to be there... for the car of course! 😉

Can't comment on the Ben Hobby 936 as I have never seen that kit but this 935-78 is indeed very basic but the body had very good lines and proportions. If the 936 is also Tamiya based it should have similar attributes.

Another great build Pierre!!

Thanks Dave. A simple curbside build but it looks very good in the display cabinet, right next to the Batmobile BMW.
