Ace-Garageguy Posted June 27 Posted June 27 HOT today, right at 100F in the shop up until 4:30 PM when a really violent downpour thunderstorm with hail started. Temp dropped to 71. 72 right now, but with 100% humidity.
slusher Posted June 27 Posted June 27 10 hours ago, John M. said: After 4 days of roasting, the temps cooled and it's 70 and cloudy here in the Metro Boston area. Tuesday was the most brutal at 103 degrees but my AC worked great. It's taking a well deserved break now. It’s hot everywhere now I can believe how Chicago is! When we movesd here 1980 June 30 the 100 degree temps started and ran thru September records fell no air on buses or high school. At 10 am it was a hundred degrees everyday. I will never forget that year…

bobss396 Posted June 27 Posted June 27 It rained late Wednesday into early Thursday, the high was 73 but still sticky. I'm close to a major highway and a piece of pavement on the express lanes buckled on Wednesday, it was fixed yesterday. Today is overcast and 63, the weekend should be tolerable.
bobss396 Posted June 29 Posted June 29 72 and sticky by 6 am. 95% humidity, I am about to put the AC on.
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 29 Posted June 29 74F, 88% humidity now (8:15 AM), forecast high 89 with popup T-storms after 2:00 PM. Going for an early hike/walk, see if I can make some rehab progress on my left hip. But first 2 more cups of coffee.
espo Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Will not have to water the lawn for the foreseeable future. Been pricing watercraft online lately. 1
LennyB Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Wish I got a PIC of it but a local Park has an electronic sign up and some of the lights are out. Says they are "hiring ark workers". I guess you need to see Noah.😁
Volzfan59 Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Sunny and hot today, looks like a storm is blowing in right now.
bobss396 Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Another hot one starting up. I need to hand water a few things before it gets too hot. Yesterday topped off at around 91.
espo Posted June 30 Posted June 30 76% humidity and 77 degrees ambient temperature. Almost drowned going out to refill the bird feeder.
89AKurt Posted July 1 Posted July 1 This is traditionally when our "monsoon" season (some Arizonians hate that word, it's just rain following a dust storm, which they are trying to call something else) starts. The World's Oldest Rodeo is around the Forth of July, some years gully washer, others fire restrictions like this year. So I washed my car, and did another coat of "polish", top down taunting Mother Nature. I'm serious, just when I took this picture, a distant thunder, only one I heard. Got some drops, we would say it was about 2", between drops. Then I parked inside the Shipping Container. Then it stopped, if you don't like the weather wait a few minutes. Looking up. No luck. 1
Russell C Posted July 1 Posted July 1 At least you got something in the sky up there. Down here in this side of the city, 116°F, but with the humidity up a tic to maybe 12%-ish. Sorta was a thundercloud way off to the east, entertaining idea if it headed this direction and remained intact, but now we're just getting wind gusts ..... 1
bobss396 Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Yesterday was a brutal 93 with 89% humidity. I was power washing my deck, mostly in the shade. I quit around 3 when I ran out of shade. Pool breaks helped. I hand-watered my patio pots. We had a big t-storm cone through around 1 AM that scared the cat. Everything got a good soaking. Today is 72 at 6 AM... back to power washing while the sun is hiding.
Rob Hall Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Been hot and humid the last few days..was at an outdoor concert Saturday night in Toledo, very uncomfortable to be outside in a crowd... like 85 and very humid. Got a bit of rain yesterday, going to get more today. 1

Also no pics but the store was Pet Supplies Plus but the “Pet Supp” was out and it just said Lies Plus.
John M. Posted July 2 Posted July 2 A thunderstorm is moving through my area at the moment. A Boston weatherman says it'll cause the dew point to drop but the temps will still remain quite warm well into this upcoming July 4th weekend.
stavanzer Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Third day of over 100 Deg heat. Supposed to cool down to 98 for the Fourth, and be back to 102-104 by Monday. I am running the A/C for 10-11 hours a day. 11am-10pm.
bobss396 Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Yesterday topped off at 84, got my deck power washing done. Big time thunder and rain off and on all last night, still raining. The plants have all taken a quantum leap recently. 74 right now with a RH of 96%.
89AKurt Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Aridzona report: Russell, you told me you prefer that to snow. 🤪 While I was in town, 1/4" on my place. That's not surprising, when the chance is 40%, means land area *might* get something fingers crossed. I like AccuWeather's radar map, I suspect Havasupai Falls will be flash flooded this summer, again. Went for a walk to "the field" south of me, this is a nice bench to sit at. Then about a minute later without a model, I leave. 😅 Someone else drug the Juniper snag to this spot, I've been manicuring, which includes green, purple, maybe quartz rocks. I used a spokeshave to flatten the top, it has a blade sheen (not sanded) and starting to patina. One summer as a teenager, we flew to Houston from Tucson, must have been August (when dad would take that slot for vacation). When I walked down the airline ramp to the concrete, I about melted! So that was enough for me, parched that we are. Lampasses was nice.

These days, anything above 108°F is what I'd call annoying. Anything below 55°F to me has become intolerably irritating. In NM in the 1980s, I thought 91°F was too irritating, but any longterm resident of the Valley of the Fierce Sun would tell you that a 91°F in the middle of summer is a pleasant cooldown. But that's always with something in the range of high teens or less in humidity Speaking of which, minutes before midnight here after a more or less constant heavy drizzle since 8:30pm-ish, 74°F with 86% humidity. Wow! 1

Wow! I hear that. The heat I handle, that thick heavy air is just no good.those days when you've flushed all the minerals out of your system with too much water are the worst. 86% humidity,no thanks. 1
Rob Hall Posted July 3 Posted July 3 My ideal temperature range would be 50F to 80F. 85F with or without humidity is too warm for me. 1
