gtx6970 Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Painted the body back approx 2017 Decided recently to push this one to the finish line Front bumper/grill. Rear bumper, Tail lights bezels and fender turn signal indicators. As well as Tires and wheels are from the Revell 1959 Retractable kit Paint is Krylon I believe. And is tough to get the color to show correctly in pictures . SO,,, I took a bunch. Color is supposed to be Geranium Or at least close enough for me . Even though it is most certainly a pinkish coral color in person Interior is mostly hand painted via free hand Feels good to get this one out of the box and in the case 17
happy grumpy Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Love the car, love the color. And i just love the cars of that era. Thanks for sharing this.
Rattlecan Dan Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Wow, extreme color change with the different lighting. Really grabs that '59 era feeling. Nice work.
Bainford Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Nice old Ford. The colours look great in the sun shine. Your windshield repair looks great. The Revell parts seem to fit very well.. Cool old cruiser.
Bills72sj Posted March 20 Posted March 20 That turned out sweet. What was your method for doing the emblems?

thatz4u Posted March 20 Posted March 20 nice 59, I built one as my first AMT 3n1 kit way back when I was a kid...before the Earth's crust cooled...
espo Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Beautiful paint color combination and the accurate looking colorful interior that Ford offered. Clean looking body trim.
1959 Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Really good looking 59 and great color choice! I have owned a light blue and white 2dht Galaxie over 30 years and if I would ever change the color it would be Geranium. I try to find my self restoration AMT kit to build a model of my own car but no luck so far. Kimmo
