I know I haven't built a big rig of any kind in quite awhile,so hear goes nothing. Last year a friend and I bought a huge big rig collection, unfortunately from a modeler who had passed away.  My friend isn't into big rigs, and we sold most of the collection to make some money. For my part, I kept a few things....ok....more than a few things, as some of my part of the proceeds. This is one of the unfinished kits. I like the color combo but it looks like I'm going to get creative with the unfinished parts because I don't think I can match the paint. I think all the parts are there, so the big issue will be making myself actually finish it.

I am along for the ride. I have dreams of making my L700 into a short tanker. Like the septic tank cleaning type.

It shouldn't be hard to recreate the smell,  but how are you going to make the flys? 😁

Like some others, this project has my attention.

If it can be done, would like to see some pics of the extended frame underneath this project.

Here you go. This is how the original builder did it.

I didnt get far and already I found something I needed.

Would any of you happen to have a pair of these rear wheel backs? I need another pair.

Good rig for a lumber yard.  I have a couple of those L-700's.  Make sure the cab sits straight on the chassis.  It was one of the little quirks in the mounting process.

VERY INTERESTING!!!!!!   I too have a few of these just setting around, may have to try building a "stretch" wheelbase/twin-screw truck outta one of them.

GREAT WORK Sam!!!  Will be watching....

There was one years back I would see in Indiana will dual axles pulling a short flatbed always will a single steel coil.

Checked it out at a little truck stop at US41 and IN.2 it had a drive and a tag.

A shop in southern IL. I occasionally worked at one we swapped a refuse box off  of had the same setup.

Both had big block Chrysler engines.
