Like how you combined a dedicated Drag Racing kit and turned into this. The body color and interior color look great together. The engine detailing looks great.

Thank you Billy!

The 83/86 Bird is such a great design, it's a good start!

Agreed. The 83-86, and 87-88 T-Birds, Cougar, and 83-92 Mark 7 were some of the best-looking cars to come out of Detroit. The fact that most Performance parts from the Mustang was a direct bolt on was a plus.

Radical and elegant. Didn't expect anything less. Great take on the T-bird. Those wheels are gorgeous.

Merci Mario!

Now, you are putting pressure on me with the "didn't expect anything less". Misère...

I love it Claude! Your whole collection of builds seem to begin with "what if....". So creative!

Thanks Emre!

Come to think of it... It seems you are right. I'm afraid there's no cure for that...

Claude you beast!  Nice job narrowing the front wheels and tires.  I like the way the inside sidewalls are tapered too.  The Ford poverty caps are a nice touch.   You may hate me for this because I know what it’s like to have too many projects but I have a suggestion for a nice counterpart to this build….Pro Street Lincoln LSC done similar fashion.
Tell ya what if you decide to do it I will donate some Lincoln dog dish caps from a Monogram 41 Lincoln.  Also I may have a set of big Maisto diecast rolling stock. Just a thought.  Anyhow I love your build.  -Mark

Hi Mark!

Thanks for the comments. I kept the sidewalls of the front tires, and as you can tell, I joined the two slivers at the center. Makes for a cleaner job.

Now, to your suggestion: I agree it would be fun, but this is my second aeroBird in a few years. The previous one was a mash-up of the Monogram Pro-Stock kit with the 1987 Turbo-coupe chassis & interior, plus a transplant of the rear quarter-panels at the wheel opening level, to recreate the OEM look (see pics below). Funny fact: I happen to have the 41 Lincoln caps, because I used the kit to make an all-out custom (see pic below). The fact the MKVII is more "squarish" makes it less appealing to my eyes. Oh well...

However, I know our fellow modeler Steve Hayden (see his post on this thread below) IS willing to take this challenge. And I know he's the right guy to make this endeavour a success!

Another home run Claude! Fantastic execution as always. I like Mark’s (ybsluos) idea about the Lincoln. If you don’t do it, maybe I’ll have a go at it…🤔😜

Steve let me know if you need the Lincoln hubcaps.  I don’t have the Pro Street Lincoln in my collection or I’d send it your way but it was reissued not long ago and should be readily available. -Mark

Claude that 41 Lincoln of yours is too slick!  Thanks for sharing.  I remember your silver T Bird with the injected Boss 9.  I love that model!  Let me know if you’re searching for any other parts and build on my friend!  -Mark

Big fan of the 83-86 T-birds and this looks fantastic, awesome job on this one!

Thanks Zenon!

It was indeed a "turnaround" design in the all too "angular" 80's LOL.

Awesome concept and build! Really fine execution of the idea, too, it is all of a piece, so to speak.

Thanks Bob!

I always try to "color-coordinate" my subjects. I try to abide by the "never exceed 3 colors on a model" unwriten rule that was once explained to me by a car designer. Oh well...

Hi Claude....like you I had a 1/1 Turbo Coupe...a 1984 with the bright gold clearcoat color I actually got pushed into production (also the silverish blue c/c that year), along with both an '87 and '88 TC.  I consider the '83.5 and '84 TC to be a modern classic...and the start of a Ford Motor Company run on the industry that lasted through the rest of the 80s and turned much of the automotive market upside down, particularly so at GM.

Anyway, also like you I have pondered a 1/25th pro-touring type TC based on the Monogram Pro Stock, but as usual you've gone way beyond I or most of the rest of us had in mind for such a project.  Lovin' it and kudos from this corner....TB

No salt this time.

Way cool!

On the top and inside, it looks like great for cruiser and road trip.  Underneath, all business.  Love it!

Thank you Steve!

I had an 85 Turbo-Coupe, and I LOVED it! Traded it for an 87 Merkur XR4Ti, which had the same engine and tranny, but a more agile chassis with an IRS. Loved it also, and traded it for an 88 XR4Ti... great souvenirs!  A few years later, I bought back the 87 from a friend who had it since I traded it. My wife drove it for years, and then my oldest daughter.
