Charles Carpenter's '55 Chevy Pro Sportsman

Just finished this build earlier.  Other than the decals falling apart the build went pretty good.  Basically box stock except I wired the engine.  I decided to go with white bumpers and just paint the bumper bolts silver because Charlies steel body car had white bumpers.  The cage inside the body was a little challenging but I got through it.  Paint is Tamiya Pure White and it was cleared with Splash Paints 2k clear then polished with Meguiar's products.

Nice to see it completed. Outstanding build. Just a suggestion, you should get some poster board and use it as a back drop. The model mat doesn’t do the build justice, as a nice backing would. The cars colors would stand out.

I do appreciate it man.  When I started applying the decals and they started falling apart I almost gave up and pulled them back off.

Thank's Roger.  Someone mentioned other kits in this series with the same chassis and engine with different bodies.  I'll have to check into that.

Looks great! Nice detail painting throughout. Decals look good despite your problems with them. 
 

I had this kit as a kid and “attempted” to build it but it was a bit beyond my 11 or 12 year old pay grade and it turned out pretty bad. If I can ever find another for reasonable money I’d love to do a redemption build.

Thanks Dennis.  Yeah, probably not a good kit for a beginner.  Keep checking on the ole interweb, they are out there.
