Falcon Ranchero Posted May 13 Posted May 13 If I could make one suggestion here, it would be cool if someone re-created the '58 Impala known as "Scoopy-Do". That would be crazy cool to see as a model. 2

I remember going to an NNL West many years ago and saw on the primer table someone had a Cadzilla build in progress! It looked like they started with an AMT 51 chevy Fleetline. I never found out who was building it nor did I ever see that build again.... 😕
Mothersworry Posted May 13 Posted May 13 (edited) Ala Kart by Barris, built from an original issue AMT kit. Edited May 13 by Mothersworry 6
gtx6970 Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Im not one to build customs persay. But WOW the amount of work posted here is off the charts My hats off to you guys
gtx6970 Posted May 21 Posted May 21 (edited) These are about as close to 'Custom' that I will get. All are pretty much straight out of the box builds of cars from my youth Edited May 22 by gtx6970 4
Claude Thibodeau Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Hi! When I was a kid, I built the Boothill Express. A few years ago, I did it again, but this time, as the Boothill DRIFTER. A fun exercise! CT 2
Lobo2me Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Some very cool and creative rides! I just posted a '34 that I tried to duplicate what was on my mind. I may have tried just a little too hard, but I think it turned out OK. 2

Just sayin... Good catch! I think some folks, like me, got caught up in all the excitement this general topic can conjur up. After adding to the problem, I realized what I had done....my bad! FoMoCo66 Posted June 3 Posted June 3 This is my replica of the American Graffiti duece coupe. I have already made a post about it somewhere else in it's own thread but hear are the pictures I found. 5
Phildaupho Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I love this thread featuring so many cool rods and custom. I have built quite a number of iconic Custom Car/Hot Rod replicas such as the Sam Barris Mercury and the Hirohata Mercury 5

Mothersworry Posted June 7 Posted June 7 (edited) Barris's Bath Tub Buggy...one of his screwier contraptions. I built it a few years from an original mint kit circa 1969, even the decals worked well. Edited June 7 by Mothersworry 1

alan barton Posted yesterday at 10:36 AM Posted yesterday at 10:36 AM (edited) In 2010 I got to visit the amazing American Museum of Speed in Lincoln Nebraska where I saw the fullsized version of the Red Baron. I grabbed a bunch of photos for research and came up with this version using the correct Pontiac OHC straight six. The chassis has been lengthened and a number of other details added, including the German helmet from a small Matchbox car that I used for an aircleaner. The hardest part was trying to reverse the headers - not as good as I would have liked but there comes a time when you have to cut your losses! Cheers Alan Edited yesterday at 02:55 PM by alan barton problem adding photos 1
