espo Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Did you have to use a black base color under the Rust-Oleum Chrome?

You don't have to David, I just feel that when I give it a gloss black base and then shoot a couple light coats of the chrome on it lets the black help out with the chrome effect. 1
Zippi Posted June 10 Author Posted June 10 Even though I'm not ready to really start this build I had to do a little mock-up since I painted the wheels & tires. Can't wait to get started on this one. 6
Zippi Posted June 24 Author Posted June 24 The weather has been so Hot and Muggy that I can't get any painting done but I did get a little done. I painted some parts red and you can see from the pics that it's no good. I'll need to wait for this Heat wave to leave the area and repaint those parts. I did find some lens for the headlights in the parts box that look like they will fit. 5
Zippi Posted June 29 Author Posted June 29 I was able to catch a window where the humidity dropped below 60% so I shot some 2k clear on a few parts and I got the body in primer. Not a lot done but the weather just does not want to cooperate. 5
Zippi Posted July 1 Author Posted July 1 I got some of the Nailhead assembled and I now have a rolling chassis. 9
James2 Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Very Kool, I like the looks of this. Do you have pix of the 1/25 scale printed version?

redscampi Posted July 1 Posted July 1 I'm really liking this Zippi! I think you're killing it! (in a good way) Like most of us, I'm not prepared to pay for an original kit, so I might fire up the printer for one of these as well!
Spex84 Posted Thursday at 03:51 AM Posted Thursday at 03:51 AM (edited) Looking good!! That chrome is pretty convincing. Edited Thursday at 03:51 AM by Spex84

Zippi Posted Friday at 03:14 PM Author Posted Friday at 03:14 PM (edited) Just got the 2k clear shot on the Uncertain T body. I'm happy with the outcome. I'll let this set for a few day then mask it off and shoot the top Matt Black. Edited Friday at 03:15 PM by Zippi 3
James2 Posted Friday at 03:24 PM Posted Friday at 03:24 PM It's looking really good Zip, I'd love to build t a 1/25 scale someday!

Zippi Posted Saturday at 01:23 PM Author Posted Saturday at 01:23 PM Well...not sure what happened but the belt is lined up with the alternator but not the water pump. Now I'm thinking call it an electric water pump and let the crank pulley run the alternator only.
Zippi Posted Saturday at 02:35 PM Author Posted Saturday at 02:35 PM I had to jack the radiator up 1/8" as the fan blade was setting to high. The parts box headlight lens have been shaved down to fit the headlight buckets and I'm liking how they are fitting. Also I got the distributor wired. 5
