slusher Posted Friday at 11:20 PM Posted Friday at 11:20 PM What are some small electric drills or battery power drill do you guys use? My Dremel is heavy and powerful …
Shark Posted Friday at 11:33 PM Posted Friday at 11:33 PM What are you drilling? I only ever use a small hand held pin vise and at times just twirl the drill bit with my fingers. 1
oldcarfan Posted Friday at 11:42 PM Posted Friday at 11:42 PM I've been wondering the same thing. I'm in the process of building a control box to slow down a single speed Dremel, but if there's anything better? 1

Cool Hand Posted yesterday at 04:52 AM Posted yesterday at 04:52 AM I like my Tamiya Handy drill. Much better control with the pistol grip. Low speed and plenty of torque. Only comes with 2 collets. But I found the collets from the Pro Edge pin vise fit Not cheap, but its worth the cost and the usual Tamiya quality. . 2 1
stavanzer Posted yesterday at 05:12 AM Posted yesterday at 05:12 AM I've heard great things about the Tamiya Drill as well. Thinking about getting one.
ShawnS Posted yesterday at 05:42 AM Posted yesterday at 05:42 AM Dremel collets also work in the Tamiya drill. They don't look as if they will work but once you screw the nut on they fit nicely. 2

I also like mine, especially when multiple, repetitive holes need to be drilled. I made a small modification to mine. 1
Fat Brian Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I have a cheap Black & Decker electric screwdriver I use. It turns slowly enough to not melt the plastic and I bought a set of drill bits that have hex ends that fit drill drivers. Lately I've seen small drill chucks that have a drill driver end so I could use regular drill bits too. 1
slusher Posted 17 hours ago Author Posted 17 hours ago t so far I like sid Charles for drilling. Don’t you have to put the Tamiya drill together?

The instructions are good, as is the parts fit. The only step that challenged me, was the installation of a couple of snap rings that hold gear assemblies together.

NOBLNG Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Looks like that uolor one has a minimum speed of 5000 rpm. Maybe a bit fast for styrene?
stavanzer Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Thanks. I think the Tamiya is a better bet for models.
