stavanzer Posted Saturday at 01:53 AM Posted Saturday at 01:53 AM A Tudor, not the Vicky? Great News! The Hot Wheels Kit are nice to have. I missed the Flip Nose 57 last time. I can get it this time.
mikos Posted Saturday at 02:18 AM Posted Saturday at 02:18 AM I’m assuming the “Hot Wheels” ‘69 COPO Camaro will be the previous Yenko Camaro. They seem to be foisting that kit upon up every few years. I wish Round 2 would either fix the body tooling or just clone the original AMT body from an original kit. With Revell’s excellent ‘69 available, there’s no reason to buy that cribbed up version. 2
Mark C. Posted Saturday at 05:23 AM Posted Saturday at 05:23 AM The illustration of the '57 doesn't look like any I've seen before. It looks decidedly toy-like, and seems to depict a cartoonish 2 door hardtop. Presumably the kit contents will actually be the ubiquitous MPC Spirit of '57 kit, which is a 2-door sedan body? 1
ChrisBcritter Posted Saturday at 05:50 AM Posted Saturday at 05:50 AM Deuce Tudor? Sign me up! (I know the body isn't quite a paragon of accuracy - like every other AMT '32 Ford including the 1/32 3-window - but I missed out on it in the '70s.) '57 Fairlane again? Only if ALL the Styline parts are back (front and rear ends). Any word on when?
Ragtop Man Posted Saturday at 02:06 PM Posted Saturday at 02:06 PM Digging the '32 Sedan - wondering if they actually found that tool, or just knocked out a new one?
mini trucker Posted Saturday at 02:35 PM Posted Saturday at 02:35 PM I just bought a sealed in box second issue of the 32 sedan so of course it’s back now! lol. I’m curious if it will have the same front tires as came in the box pictured or if it will be some new generic ones?
stavanzer Posted Saturday at 04:25 PM Posted Saturday at 04:25 PM IIRC, that Box art on the '32 Sedan is vintage from the 1970's. Really Curious to see what's in this box!

Round2 included some newly tooled tires in the same style when they reissued the "Street Rods" Series '23 Model T about ten years ago. 1

The original '32 Sedan Street Rod was a one-time only release in 1975 or thereabouts. It combined the '32 Ford Tudor body from the 1963 Trophy Series '40 Willys/'32 Custom Sedan Double kit with the rest of the original '32 Ford Vicky kit contents. Until now, it was never reissued in that 1975 kit configuration. Interesting story, about 20 years ago (yikes) Roger Harney, VP of kit development at Revell-Monogram, asked to borrow the interior from my AMT '32 Tudor kit (the 1975 release) so they could use it as a reference in developing their own '32 Tudor Sedan kit which came out several years later. Sometime later Roger returned my parts, and when the kit came out, sent me one of the first ones off the line with a message of thanks on the box art. Oh the story this hobby can tell...TB 3
stavanzer Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Any more Thoughts on the "New" T-133 '32 Sedan, Tim? From the images posted on the other thread, it looks like this was the easiest Mod on the existing tooling since the Vicky was out several years ago. (not that finding the Sedan body was easy) I am really looking forward to this one. Seeing it was a Complete Surprise.

Steve...I don't have the two kits handy right now to compare, and I do not have a specific memory about this, but I do believe thinker there may have been a degree of difference between the interior shell of the Tudor and the Phaeton kits. Guess we will be able to confirm one way or the other shortly....TB

Cheers! Ahh...the stories I could tell. And in the model kit world, I already have, to some degree, in some of the 80 or so (to date) bi-monthly "Classic Kits" columns that have appeared in the other model car magazine/general hobby magazine for the last dozen years or so... But in the auto industry particularly, I have too many friends and associates that might be concerned about some of those stories. And I suppose there are certain confidentiality considerations as well. Oh well....on the plus side, most of it was really good. Like the story I heard about how a certain 1/1 scale Design Studio "chopped" Oscar (the mannequin used for assessing passenger occupancy) to make it appear the rear seat headroom was OK in a certain future car's fastback roofline....smile...TB

Yup, probably why most of the stories you read are told by some unconnected third party who “heard something” from some unnamed source… Honestly, when your life’s work is dedicated to a job you believe in, why would anybody want to disrespect it by telling stories on the internet for hero points? Stuff happens in every job, but IMHO it’s always best to use good judgment and take the high road. Just my 2 cents. 1

1972coronet Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I just may have to get me one of those '32 Tudors ! I remember it as a kid when they were new, but it didn't interest me at that time ( I was 5 years old ). I didn't realise that it's never been reissued ! I just pray to J that it's got good tyres, and not those crummy Rally GT "snow tyres" which AMT kits of that era were cursed with . The '57 Fairlane will likely find its way into my (growing) stash, too. I've got the '56 from its c.2012 reissue - the '57 will compliment it nicely (now, if only someone would make a NEW '58-'59 Fairlane / Ranchero ! )

The '32 Vicky has 6 tires. 4 pad printed White Walls and 2 Printed Pie Crust Slicks. Sadly no tires for a custom version, so you are on your own there. No telling what tires the Sedan will have, but in the other thread on the sedan, it shows the same Chrome tree as the Vicky and Phaeton. I hope we get some Wide Tires for the Custom Rims. As for the Rallye GT tires, those seemed to have taken a long vacation from the Round2 Toolbank. I hope they never return. I have about 60 of them in my Box'O tires and many kits from the '80's.
Mark C. Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Will definitely be picking up one of the ’32s. Reading the posts from the fine contributors on this forum has pushed me over the line. It’s now on the list.
stavanzer Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago This Chrome Tree is close to what is in my recent Round2 Vicky kit. I suggest that the one in the Sedan will be very similar. The one in the Photo is from the Original 1973-ish T-133 Sedan Kit.
