STU111 Posted October 10 Posted October 10 G’day all, I recently finished this build of a car l owned in the 80’s. The HQ series of Holdens built from 71-74, were the main GM brand here in Australia with the Kingswood being the volume seller of the range. They sold well and by the mid 80’s were plentiful on the used car market and were snapped up by young guys for modifying and customising. I bought this one in ‘84, the deep offset wheels were already on it. I lowered it, put a floor shift in and as she was running the inline 6, had plans for a 350 V8 and 4 speed but never got around to it, I lost interest and sold it for something else. I had some good times in that old Holden and was sorry to hear some years later that it was written off in a smash. But, it lives on in 1/24 scale. As always, any comments, the good, the bad and the ugly are welcome. Thanks for looking. Cheers, Stuart.👍🏻 16

Cool Hand Posted October 10 Posted October 10 Turned out great Stu, well done mate. You will have to build another one and do it up with the plans you had in mind. 1
XYHARRY Posted October 11 Posted October 11 Looks great Stu, I also owned a few HQs in the 80s. I'm building the slammed version right now and hope it turns out as nice as yours. Well done mate. 1

Not a bad idea Luke, I reckon I’d even probably have a small block Chev engine in the parts box.

alan barton Posted Thursday at 10:44 PM Posted Thursday at 10:44 PM Great work Stu - you really captured the style of the HQ perfectly. DDA has done us Aussies a huge favour by finally producing styrene kits of Australian manufactured cars. I know here in Perth the kits are immensely popular! Its great to see. Cheers Alan 1
espo Posted Sunday at 04:08 PM Posted Sunday at 04:08 PM Beautiful looking reproduction of your old friend. Building a model of a vehicle from your earlier life can bring back so many interesting memories. I have also always liked most of the cars from Australia and even bought a new '05 Pontiac GTO, your Monero, and drove it for 9 years and still regret selling it. 1
