carrucha Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 Nice work on making a Chevy Citation look good. The Chevy Citation has a special meaning for me in that it was my parent's car while I was growing up and the car that I learned to drive in. carrucha
cruz Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 You deserved a citation from the cops for buying such a car when these things came out!! They really were boring but as a model this is quite unique, nice job!!!
Abell82 Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Seeing your kit makes me want to run out and buy one...but I probably won't. It would have been SOOO much better, had they done the X-11 instead. Then I'd already have at least one of these kits!!
Scott Colmer Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Oh my God. How did you make that car look so good? Amazing!
Glen G. Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 very nice! i like to see your builds on here and its good to see you back. keep em coming!
chris coller Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 My first car was a Chevy Citation hatch back. Bronze/Gold color. Nice color choice and an excellat and different build!
MrObsessive Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 About a year before the 1:1 Citation came out (I was a senior in high school then), the automotive press was blathering on about GM's new "X-Body" compacts. I remember thinking to myself......"Oooooh, X-Body!" I was thinking something pretty sexy considering they gave the body type the "X" moniker.............. I was WOEFULLY disappointed when the cars showed up in the metal! The only thing the cars had going for it IMO was the front engine/suspension cradle did pave the way for Pontiac to bring out the mid/rear engined Fiero, but we all know what happened to that one. They did make history for GM in the sense that they were the first FWD compacts to come from GM..............the first FWD being the Toronado, but that was a full size car------and a LOT better looking! Dave you did a REAL nice job on what to me is a boring kit................imagine the torque steer in that beast though with a V8!! You deserved a citation from the cops for buying such a car when these things came out!! :rolleyes Now THAT is funny!!
roadhawg Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 You know you have "arrived" when you can make a Citation look good! I never thougt I'd say this to anybody, but....great looking Citation! Lol! The Chevy Citation has a special meaning for me........... yeah, me too, in that I owned one. It caught on fire once, and like a fool, I put it out.
Nick F40 Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Wow, very well done, I like these odd cars like this, you did a very nice job, really makes them look nice. Torque steer much?
Chuck Most Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Moving Citation! Ha! I get it! No, wait... NOW I get it. Nicely done- those look like Bandit Resins amps in the trunk. My mom had an '84 Citation 4-door when I was a kid. I can't fathom why Monogram did a kit of it, but it's good they did, or we'd have never gotten to see this one.
Guest Davkin Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Unfortunately one of my earliest driving experiences was in a Citation. GM really produced a lot or horrible junk in the 80's. David
