Carmak Posted Saturday at 02:32 AM Posted Saturday at 02:32 AM Today I watched the Round2 November release video (Chad) for the 1960 Chevy Nomad Wagon and 1965 Barracuda Craftsman Plus Kits and noticed some interesting features when the bottoms of the boxes were shown: * Separate simplified suspension components * Separate exhaust pieces This is a real improvement for the Craftsman Plus line. Well done Round2! 2
Mark C. Posted Saturday at 03:28 AM Posted Saturday at 03:28 AM Great news! These are my two most anticipated new releases coming, followed closely by the ’72 Duster. Thanks for posting that.
slusher Posted Saturday at 11:43 AM Posted Saturday at 11:43 AM Round2 has really been going to make many model happy with these new kits.. 1
John M. Posted Saturday at 02:29 PM Posted Saturday at 02:29 PM I just preordered the 60 Nomad from Model Roundup. It won't come out until January but it's said that it'll be a hot seller so I'd figure it's better to get ahead of the crowd. 1

Well done Round2! I’m ready to receive my AMT ‘60 Nomad kit: I’ve got AMT ‘59 El Camino and ‘62 Bel Air kits on standby as donor kits to make this a worthwhile build… 👍 1
Ragtop Man Posted Saturday at 06:54 PM Posted Saturday at 06:54 PM I believe the '60 is one piece - ? - but is very well done and nicely engraved for as simple as it is. Will be banking a few for an Elco project that has been sitting since Ebay was delivered by Pony Express. Of course, with my luck or lack therof I will finish that (earth shakes, briefly) then R2 will announce the **new** Elco!
Trainwreck Posted yesterday at 02:54 AM Posted yesterday at 02:54 AM Curious to see if I can swap some parts from the Revell '60 into the nomad, I'll definitely pick up on a couple barracudas. 1

I think the Revell '60 is the best call if you really want to go full detail. I have an original (crusty) '60 ElCo and the Revell bits seemed to line up much better than the AMT Trophy '59, which always seemed to be a bit box-scaled to me. 1
ewetwo Posted yesterday at 03:50 PM Posted yesterday at 03:50 PM I'm on board for a Barracuda and Chevy wagon. 1

I have a glue bomb '60 Elco I bought about 20 years ago in a hobby shop in Colorado Springs. Looking forward to the '60 Nomad, '65 Barracuda and '72 Duster...I'll pretty need a couple of each.

Thanks for the info Bob, I think my biggest concern with swapping the frame will be getting the rear arch under the nomad interior. I want to keep the nomad interior intact and don't want to have to doctor the frame too much.
ChrisBcritter Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago (edited) Anyone also notice the Nomad has five extra taillight lenses and what looks like a red roof beacon? Future police or fire chief option, or perhaps for an El Camino service vehicle? Also note the full wheel covers and dog dishes (which I hope have been redone since the last test shot). You can clearly see separate exhaust, a rear axle piece and a representation of lower front suspension. I would SPECULATE the chassis plate may support the axles and that the suspension pieces simply cover the axles. Won't know for sure till we see some pics of the kits

Andria H Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Excited for the '60 wagon. I'll add my own straight six or 283 and a tar top battery. Might even make one into a proper '60 2dr wagon, likely in base model trim with steelies at that
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Are there any fender skirts made to fit the '60 Nomad?
