Megahobby.com coming to a close Q3 2026

Not to long got an email from them explaining they'll be shutting down the website around Q3 2026.  That's sad to hear as they are stapple when it comes to the online hobby market.  I'm sure they're keeping the doors open at there location, but there just closing down the website.  They didn't specifically say why there shutting down the website, but I'm sure it's probably something to do with money....maybe.

The family that owns Stevens Int'l, MegaHobby & AAA Hobbies (wholesaler, online retailer, and brick & mortar shop) are retiring. They've been at it for more than 40 yrs, nothing nefarious or money related. Surprising someone hasn't tried to acquire it, but then they've never been particularly price friendly either - and I don't doubt that wouldn't extend to what they'd want to buy out the business.

Steven's has been around a long time, very early in the internet days. I see many items on MH that are sold out.

I've bought from The Model Roundup and Hobbylinc (spelling?) lately.

There was one that is long gone, Scale Dreams. They had just about anything and everything.

I see very little of Detail Master stock anywhere, even on eBay.

I get their emails and have visited the site but never ordered from them. Don't know why.

I've ordered from them before, but mostly my go-tos for online kit vendors have been Model Roundup, Spotlight Hobbies and more recently Wes' Model Corner.

Have ordered from them a couple times.  Their kit prices tend to be higher than others.  Mainly ordered parts and accessories.  Sad to see them go.

Its always sad to see another hobby retailer/wholesaler close up,   I only bought a few kits from them, like others have already mentioned, their prices were higher than almost everyone else.

I haven't purchased from them in a good while but I've always enjoyed looking thru their web site. I was hoping to get me one each of the clearenced Nova's but was a little to late I guess.
