I know that the majority of people here prefer to build in 1/24 or 1/25... and some "scale snobs" won't even mix those two! :D

However... what other scale do you build/prefer, if any? Just curious...

Personally I'm a big-scale fan... I build mostly 1/8, but I'm running out of display space!

Hey Harry,

I got the first vote in!!!! :D:lol:

I have some 1/16 scale drag cars both built and kits.

What do I win by being the first vote????

How about a ride in your stang??

Just kidding.

Hey, I haven't even let my own son drive it yet!!! :D

I had to go with "other". When I'm not building cars, I like to build 1/48 and 1/72 scale helicopters.

ONE would just about do me in for display space in 1/8 scale. :D

Well Harry the only other scale(or at least the MAJORITY) I build in is 1/48th. Usually WWII an Viet-Nam era aircraft. I have a few 1/72nd scale aircraft, but they're bombers.

I occaisonally like to play around with HO railroad stuff like buildings and cars. I have a vintage Texaco station and a bunch of really nice ready- mades I found at Wal Mart for two bucks a pop. That more than justified my paying twelve bucks for an aqua and white '59 Ford in HO scale.

ummm... YES!

I not only build cars (1/24, 1/25, 1/20), I also build Armor 1/35, aircraft (1/48, 1/72, 1/32), figures (1/4, 120mm, etc), and some sci-fi(Scale??? we dont need no stinking scale).

I have never built anything other than 1/24, 1/25. I would love to try, if anyone would like to donate one to me :D

If there were more selection in 1/32 or 1/48 I'd probably consider those scales for cars because of display space issues.

In addition to cars I build 1/72 aircraft and helicopters, 1/35 armor and 1/700 ships.

Are we talking "building", or "collecting"? Cause I also collect 1/28 and 1/43 scale cars. I prefer building 1/24 as it is the most common and it's the only scale that offers my favorite super cars. Have no experience in building 1/18 or 1/43 kit's, but would like to some day build 1/43 resin kit's.

Collecting, 1/43 is the best as there isn't a car that hasn't been done! Plus, there small enough you can collect a lot of theme and still have space!

I prefer 1:25th for domestic, 1:24th for import (or Monograms). I've also dabbled in 1:64th, 1:43rd, 1:32nd, 1:20th, 1:16th, 1:8th and 'box scale' styrene kits..

I've pretty much honed in on only building 1/24 (for import subjects) or 1/25 (for domestic subjects). I quit buying 1/43 and 1/18 scale stuff. The only diecast I buy is either 1/24 subjects that I can't get in plastic, or "Matchbox/Hot Wheels" scale just for fun.

I really don't have any "other" scales. I don't have room to get obsessed with any other scales, especially large scale stuff.

I used to build a lot of 1/43rd but gave it up many moons ago because of the cost. I build 95% in 1/24-5 but do build an occasional 1/32 nd car because there are so many cool Brass era cars in that scale from Pyro and Airfix.

 1/24, 1/25 mostly. F-1 cars are usually 1/20. If the subject is interesting, I might just cross the line!

dang, harry! you asked a very difficult question!!!!!! and you forgot 1/43, 1/64, etc.!!!!!

Not limited to scale.

I have everything from 1/2400 (yup twenty-four hundred) B) to 1/4 scale.

I like 1/12 but have some 1/16, 1/4, 1/5, 1/7, 1/8, 1/9, 1/10, too.

1/24-1/25, which to me are basically the same, (or close enough!), a few 1/32 scale kits, (more of which I may build at some point), 1/12, 1/18, & a couple of 1/43 scale kits as well. I've also built some of the 1/16 scale kits that were popular in the 70's. Other scales for S/F & figure models of course.

Because of the way the poll is set up, (only one vote allowed), I couldn't really participate as besides 1/24-1/25, my builds are varied per scale.

B)

could picked other

What he said, plus 1/32 helicopters, and aircraft, and Star Trek. Dont know how I missed this topic.

Years ago I built 6 Tamiya F1 cars in 1/12 scale....beautiful kits but they take up too much space, and now they are very costly. I still have the Porsche 934 kit unbuilt that I am saving for "that day", but other then 1/25 - 1/24, I build 1/20 F1 cars. That is it, for me now, just the F1 kits, other than the 1/25 kits.

I'm another who is not limited by scale; I go by the subject matter.

My car builds are primarily 1/24-1/25, but doing some LGB 'G' gauge(1/22.5) buildings and such on my buddy's model RR layout...luckily. I've also dabbled with a few HO-scale builds, and I modify the occasional Hotwheels car as well.

I used to collect 1/18 diecasts, but they take up a lot of room; I buy a lot less pre-builts nowadays, and 1/43 is a good one for collecting IMO.

:D I'm going way out of my 'comfort zone' on this one scale-wise: I'm currently laying out plans for a 1/3-1/2.5 scale Kübelwagen go kart.

I build mostly in 1/24th or 1/25th scale but have a few 1/16th finished projects, and have a stack of unstarted 1/16th kits B) .

I also have a 1/9th scale scratch-built 40's art-deco bicycle in the works, as well as a ?? scale scratch-built low-rider style 1930's Hiawatha streamliner locomotve train engine and coal tender- neither automotive, so won't be seen on this forum  .
