Fuel Coupe Posted December 18, 2009 Author Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) Thanks guys Dave, I think they still make one that is similar, That pin vise along with the bench I work on as well as alot of my tools belonged to my Grandfather. He was a jeweler and when he passed away a few years ago my grandmother told me he wanted me to have all of his stuff. Sometimes I feel he's still here looking over my shoulder.. Cool guy. Miss him.... Edited December 18, 2009 by TxRat
Fuel Coupe Posted January 7, 2010 Author Posted January 7, 2010 Heres a small update. I got the frame painted and cleared. The two hole fuel injectors are plumbed up and has the linkage installed. the motor is started and getting close. I have the pop off valves done for the manifold, and the valve covers have the "bumps" on them just like the real car. I got my decals today and they turned out WAY better then I had anticipated... What do ya think?
whale392 Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Beautiful build. Dads' rail is a 150" Chassis Research car that was run out of Central Michigan in the middle to late 60s'; and this build reminds me of his car. Awesome work!
Bernard Kron Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Beautifully detailed and on its way to becoming a great model of this unusual car. The fabrication is awesome and now that the paint is starting to go on this build is getting more spectacular with each update. Can;t wait for more!
Fuel Coupe Posted January 8, 2010 Author Posted January 8, 2010 Thanks guys. I probably should have made the nozzles smaller Dave but i was running out of material to remove. This has been a really fun build. Its had over 2000 views with little comments. They all can't be builds of Jungle Jims cars LOL!!!! I should have it up on four wheels by next update...
Eric Stone Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Looks good, Shane! Will I have the pleasure of seeing it in person in a few weeks?
pharr7226 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 A very cool build of an unusual subject. The injectors are beautiful. I'll watch this one closely.
Fuel Coupe Posted January 11, 2010 Author Posted January 11, 2010 Looks good, Shane! Will I have the pleasure of seeing it in person in a few weeks? Yea Eric, I should have it there on the primer table...
Fuel Coupe Posted January 17, 2010 Author Posted January 17, 2010 Here's the latest update on the Hollish car. I found a seller on Ebay that make the correct four hole wheels for this car and grab them as soon as I saw them. I believe the seller is a member here but not sure who he is. So THANKS for the wheel... On to the pics. Scratch built shocks made from brass tube and rod.... Gotta get the camber right still tipped in a bit on the top.. One of the few aftermarket items on the car. Thanks for looking...
Peter Lombardo Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Shane, this is very impressive. I love the scratch built chassis. That body is so ugly that it is beautiful. The engine detailing is first rate...great job on a obscure subject. Looking forward to the completion of this.
Matt LeBlanc Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Your front end machine is a little off.LOL
Fuel Coupe Posted January 17, 2010 Author Posted January 17, 2010 Your front end machine is a little off.LOL HAHA you should have seen it before I started tweaking it. It was carrying the right front. Oh the joys of scratch building...
Foxer Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 raises hand to say I'm still here and enjoying every second and smiling at your work in every update!
Dragline Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 This is shaping up nicely Shane. Well done on the injectors as well.. Finish er up man........... Bob
noname Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Texrat, looking great. I was wondering where you got those front wheels. Is there more than one supplier of these realistic spoked wheels?
Scott Colmer Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Getting soooo close! I am really enjoying the progress on this one.
iBorg Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Shane I've seen your work here and at SLM. This is by far your best work that I've seen. You've done every part justice. Mike
Fuel Coupe Posted January 17, 2010 Author Posted January 17, 2010 Texrat, looking great. I was wondering where you got those front wheels. Is there more than one supplier of these realistic spoked wheels? The wheels are from Machined aluminum specialties and they are fiddly at best. System 17 You can find them on eBay from the seller customs_by_terry. He is also a member here... Shane I've seen your work here and at SLM. This is by far your best work that I've seen.
