Terry Jessee Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 This is Revell's Caprice police car, done as a '91 with resin wheel covers from All-American Models. I had to fill a lot of mounting holes, including the spotlight mount in the left A-pillar. That one requires that you not only fill the hole, but recarve the chrome trim strip that's interrupted by the spotlight. Otherwise, it's just out of the box. Terry
Guest Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Once again, beautiful work Terry. Is this a recent build?
george 53 Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Terry, if ya'd have bult it as an SS, then it woulda been MY car!( My Mom usedta drive Lincolns ) Looks good though.
Eshaver Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Is that why you dislike Ford Cars George ? Ed Shaver Terry , nice job on a REAL CAR !
Custom Hearse Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Can't be my mom's car... She never got a drivers license... EVER!!! Car looks great Terry! Did the wheel covers come with the kit? Nice work!!!
cruz Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Very cool but, where are the rest of the pictures???
george 53 Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 No Ed, Lincoln's and Mercury's ARE nice cars, it just FORDS that I dislike. Cheep IS as CHEEP does!!!!

Well, there's an SS, too. And in answer to the other questions, this is probably about six or seven years old. The wheelcovers are resin, from the now-defunct All-American Models. Terry
george 53 Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 OOOO Terry, GREAT BUILD!!! This is your BEST one yet!!! Thanks for postin it!!!
Zoom Zoom Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 T'aint my Mom's car...she's 85 and still loves driving her BMW Z3 I guess I need to build the model of it that I've always threatened to...though I did do up a Matchbox just like hers for an Xmas tree ornament. Great model, I have one of Art's in the same color.
James W Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Looks like a Q-ship to me. I bet you didn't downgrade the engine did you.

Scott H. Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Nice builds! I like the way you took it to a base vehicle. Nope, not my mother's car either... She drives one of these: Unfortunately, it's MY car since her Caddy is broke and has been for a couple of years now. I'm beginning to believe it's never coming home again... -Scott H.
oldscool Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 (edited) Nice builds of the ugliest of all Impalas IMHO. That SS kit has to be one of the best snap kits ever. oldscool Edited November 25, 2009 by oldscool

MyBradKeselowski Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Fantastic!!! Awesome!!! I am glad to see that you built a stock Caprice with the Revell kit. These kits have so much potential that can be done with them...
Terry Jessee Posted November 26, 2009 Author Posted November 26, 2009 That build reminds me of the car in the brochure. Nice job, Terry. Charlie Larkin It was inspired by the car in the '91 Caprice introductory brochure. Unfortunately, that's too big for me to scan. But you're right. Terry
bsoder Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Great lookin' Caprice!..nice to see one built this way
Rob Hall Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Sharp build...when that kit first came out, I built one in a similar color w/ red interior and used the kit hubcaps. Alas, there aren't any kits out there that I could use to replicate my Mom's current cars ('96 Lincoln Town Car, '05 Navigator). Though I've built a kit like one of her older cars ('67 Cougar).
carchub Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 No Ed, Lincoln's and Mercury's ARE nice cars, it just FORDS that I dislike. Cheep IS as CHEEP does!!!! Well now, aren't they all fords? Just like from the movie "Postman", there was a, Ford-Lincoln-Mercury, dealership in that movie haha
charlie8575 Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 It was inspired by the car in the '91 Caprice introductory brochure. Unfortunately, that's too big for me to scan. But you're right. Terry Very cool, and I haven't looked at mine in years, but I remember that picture. What paint did you use to make the maroon interior, it looks absolutely dead-on when thinking of the maroon interior in my mother's Cutlass and a few Caprices I saw new. Charlie Larkin

Just like from the movie "Postman", there was a, Ford-Lincoln-Mercury, dealership in that movie haha They're Ford products but a Mercury or Lincoln is not a Ford. That's why they have entirely different names! There are Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep dealers, and Pontiac-Buick-GMC dealers, but nobody confuses, say, a Pontiac G6 with a GMC C4500! Terry- is there a link to your pictures anywhere? I've scanned Fotki and Photobucket endlessly and have found zilch! Edited November 30, 2009 by Chuck Most
