plasticfrog Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 This what I've got done so far....like always had a booboo broke the body where i cant fix it so i found another one i painted it last nite.
charlie8575 Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Chassis plate is now painted. I solve it the easy way and paint it flat black. That looks enough like undercoating so that nobody's going to argue too much! I'll be doing the detail painting tomorrow after the paint dries. Charlie Larkin
diymirage Posted December 15, 2009 Author Posted December 15, 2009 This what I've got done so far....like always had a booboo broke the body where i cant fix it so i found another one i painted it last nite. that is a very nice stance
Lownslow Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 keep in mind the hose is that way because of the non dodge radiator.
Bruno Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 The more I look at it, the more I like the color on that Challenger
JT Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Is it still possible to get in on this? I haven't built anything in 'Loooonggg' time! Most likely would try for a 69 el Camino, Maybe get me motivated to do something on the 1:1 JT
JT Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 They were sold in that color. Code L5. Butterscotch is Dodge's name for that color, Plymouth's name is Bahama Yellow. Here's one; Bruno; Where did you get that picture, I think that's the Wagner's Classic Cars that's about 3 miles from my house! I almost remember that one being there!
moonlite5hadow Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 i havent done any work since entering this build (life, building, repairing, and racing the 1:1, school, and job hunting has side tracked me, along with two custom v-12 engines i'm working on are getting in the way! haha) here is how my Camaro/Ford hybrid currently sits, except for a bigger front mount intercooler. This is the old intercooler. new one is about twice as tall, same width. also going to re-pipe the turbos as i have the exhaust inlet and outles swapped from the traditional way. These are the old wheels. current ones, and permanent ones, are the torq thrust pictured above.

charlie8575 Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Small bit of progress to report. The front suspension is now attached and clamped to the chassis plate to promote holding. The front suspension member seems to have been slightly sprung, so it wasn't holding or going in right. I also noted that while test-fitting parts, it seems that simply painting the parts caused tolerances to go out of whack, as did my pre-assembly of the suspension parts front and rear. Such things not withstanding, it will go together nicely I think. Charlie Larkin
Corvette.Jeff Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 So heres my first update, i dont have the body work photos, they got deleted and its already in its paint These are the only photos i have right now, but ill add some more later. Those blue marks are for a small "z" i had to do on the frame. In that one you can see some little creature comforts i swapped over from a c5 'vette, power steering,a bigger front sway bar,and a ls1 motor mount All of that coinsides with this.... you can actually see the body in its final coat of paint, just have to clear it now
Cobrawannabe Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 How's a '68 Barracuda with... -Flat Red w/ flat black scoops -Blower from a 454 stacked on top of the 383 -Big Rake -Street Tires -A touch of rust -Long tube headers -Roll Bar -5-point harnesses -Edelbrock valve covers -Sweet side pipes with Cherry Bobs Yup, it's going to be a classic, East Coast-style 70's street racer! Am I in?
Corvette.Jeff Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 okay, here is my entry. that would be pretty cool to see built, especially wiht a big engine and some big ol' slicks but the rules say it has to be american, and last time i checked renault was french.
CAL Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 (edited) that would be pretty cool to see built, especially wiht a big engine and some big ol' slicks but the rules say it has to be american, and last time i checked renault was french. It's American-French, it lives in America. and oozes testosterone all by itself, and I will just putty the back doors closed. oh alright. How bout a Swedish home built aeroplane? I thought a Camaro "a small, vicious animal that eats Mustangs", anyways. Back to the drawing board. Edited December 17, 2009 by CAL
Cobrawannabe Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Progress..... This is actually a resto-mod of a really botched completion for 2004 when I was 13...
charlie8575 Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 The primary engine assembly on the GTO is now painted. I've also painted all the sub-assemblies, and once the paint completely dries tomorrow, my goal is to have the engine assembled and in-place tomorrow evening, with completion of the chassis following. Charlie Larkin
remingtonbox Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Finally, I can join. My photoshop is being stupid slow so I will finish this update at work tomorrow.
