Brizio Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I was looking to some lovely retro style in this model, between a old car and a Streamliner train and put all in a AMT Peterbilt 359. About the kit, I didn't used too many part from it, cab, chassis, engine, steering wheels and dashboard, the rest it is all scratch-build. A lot of fun wit it, and also some bad moment, because of paint problem... But a the end I can say that I'm happy with it... Some pics... Thank you for looking!!! Thanks to Trehugger for the name suggestion! LOVE IT!!!
MikeMc Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 With a cab that sweet...whats the trailer like??
E St. Kruiser50 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Fabrizio and I belong to the same club, and when he pulled this thing out of it's box, it just blew my sox off . Harry P. Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 That windshield visor kind of limits forward visibility, doesn't it???
george 53 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 WHOA!!!! NOW THAT'S different!!!! I CAN SEE why the Treehugger likes it!!! VERY COOL build!!!!
crazyjim Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Pretty neat but it looks like it scraping the ground.
Brizio Posted January 13, 2010 Author Posted January 13, 2010 Thank you guys!!! @MikeMC, I was planning to build the trailer too, but I'll put in in "wait" for now... @Dave, You're welcome and toooo gentle!!! I forgot to bring you one things remind me! @HarryP., For safety I didn't put the driver train on it... @CrazyJim, It dosn't look that it scraping the ground, It is totally scraping the ground... I was thinking how much excited I was when I bought it a one swap meet, and the same night went back home and looking a the ocean I start to put some ink on a paper, some lines, the front fender...
Raul_Perez Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Very cool!! I can see why Treehugger Dave likes it!! The colors look close to the ones I used for my '40 Ford, but I'm sure that you used a lot more paint than I did!! Thanks for sharing,
Randy Kern Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Wow, that's off the wall radical! Can you just see this thing coming down the road at you? Unique and cool!

RJWood Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Very nice work, great scratch building, and detail. The way you hinged the doors is genius. It all flows together very well. Love the paint combo. Awesome!
Ryan S. Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 What a beauty! Well done, that this is fantastic! I love the grill and how it all flows! How much BMF did you go through?
crazyjim Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 No more waiting. I want to see the trailer! Please?
Brizio Posted January 14, 2010 Author Posted January 14, 2010 Thank you again guys!!! @Raul_Perez, Yep, a lot of paint because I had a little problem with it... I probably paint it 20 times... It was make me crazy!!! @RJWood, The doors and hood are working, also you can remove part of the hood. I glued a piece of chromed plastic for keep the hood and doors open. The idea of doing this kind of doors and hood a the beginning was because it looks like my doog's ears. But after the paint problem I changed my mind, so the doors are kind of wings, for all the time I though to trow it out of the window!!! Rayan S., BMF??? Zero... CrazyJim, the trailer it is a project, and it is still in my mind... I don't know if I'll start to build it, I need a vacation after the truck!!!
