Eero Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 I used Revells Westfalia kit as a base, but I scratch built a lot. That rear part is made out of styrene. I I tried to use as much innovative materials as possible. For example those curtains are made out of serviettes... That longest antenna is actually made of guitar string. This model represents Finnish motorhome, so there is a lot of Finnish stuff. I didn't use any particular 1:1 motorhome as example when I built this. Still I tried to pick all the details of these kind of cars.
RodneyBad Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Great looking MotorHome That is a lot of scratch building and detailing you did. Excellent work.. Really Fantastic..
sjordan2 Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 That is fantastic. How come some of the world's best modelers come from Finland? Need something to do when you're snowed in? PS – is there any record of what the interior looks like?
James Flowers Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 That is just wonderful to look at. Looks real, just like you could drive it away.
miatamadman Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Very neat and quite a unique model. Excellent job!
Jon Cole Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Bravo! That... is amazing! That is over the top! What caught my eye... the window frames. How did you make those? They look so much better than the usual square-corner aluminum frame vintage style we usually see. The entire build is so clean. Quite believable!
Sixties Sam Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Wow! Very nicely done model. Great design and scratch building! You have much skill. It looks so real! The bicycle is a nice touch! Sam
Randy Kern Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Neat model with lots of detailing to check out, even down to the VW mudflaps!
bsoder Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 WOW!...that is a 10++++ conversion..your scratch. skills are amazing

John Teresi Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 This is so AWESOME!!!!.......truly love this build.......detail and idea is so cool.
Sixties Sam Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I took a second look at that bicycle on the back. It's a gem of detailing in itself! Those look like wire spokes in the wheels, and I see valve stems. Notice the friction drive generator with wires running to the headlight, springs under the seat, adjusting bolt for the seat post, etc. Very nice work!!
Rat Fink Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Wow that is an amazing build. What really got my attention was the smallest thing there....the pine tree air freshner. Just over the top.
Joker Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Gorgeous work..Truly inspiring...thank you so much for sharing. James

David G. Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Too bad that we've all seen it already. It would have been a good candidate for the weekly "Real or Model" contest. Absolutely Amazing!
