This was a fun project inspired by the killer SEMA Twin Turbo (V6) "Leno" Camaro.

I started w/a half-price Jada Camaro plastic kit. Two reasons for that...it's 1/24 scale and the body is better/crisper than either Revell or especially AMT. The interior is also quite nice. Chassis..uh, it's made for Dubs. Engine...didn't get built. It's a pure curbside.

Wheels are Pegasus, as are the 23" sleeves. Tires are from the Revell Camaro concept. Paint is Tamiya Pure White. Grille mesh (not visible in photos) is P/E brass treated w/"Blacken It".

I still need to improve the exhaust tips & side marker lights before this weekend's Birmingham show. Also would like to have the side mirrors not quite so high in the sky. I have one other model I'm also trying to finish before Saturday and it's full detail :)

Love this thing!!!! Looks awesome in white, a color I never would have thought would go with this car..... ;)

That's a sharp looking car and it does look good in white. Put a light bar on top and some badges on the doors and I wouldn't be surprised to see those cruising the highways pulling people over.

Another great project, Bob (not that I expected any different)! The lines, stance, color, wheels and the whole look is perfect. I agree that the Jada kit offers better and crisper lines than others, however, the side mirrors are a little funky. By the way, the rear spoiler turned out rather nicely.

Good luck this weekend in Anniston! I wish I could be there with you guys, but don't have my "road dog" right now and then my son, BJ's, birthday is Saturday and I don't think being out of town would go over well. It would have been good to have a picture of both the Maros taken next to each other (you know...like Ebony and Ivory ;) ). I know, kinda hokey, but I couldn't resist. ;)

LOL that's a good way to compare them ;)

Sorry you can't make it...we'll see you in November and we can get the photo then...it would be a cool contrast between the two...though my model is Fred Flinstone simple compared to yours (no engine, no chassis detail other than to hold the wheels and snap the car together...my chin splitter makes for a good "Japanese style" snap together chassis).

My mirrors aren't glued in...might try to find some smaller racing-style mirrors that aren't quite as obnoxious.

Wow! that turned out really nice. I can't believe it is a Jada piece. Looks great sittin on the shelf or table.

Thanks!

Jada plastic kits are quite nice. If they had realistic chassis & wheels/tires, they'd be better than Revell & AMT. The only one to avoid is the Corvette.

This is their Shelby GT500:

Hey Bob,

I have some lenses that I cast for Dirk for the camaro. You would have to drill small holes, use a file and file only inward, not both directions as you may pull the paint up if you pull the file toward you. I know it's too late for B'Ham, but if you want it for later, let me know. Go look at his "Ebony" and you will see the depth of the lenses.

Have fun without me!! I wish I could go. Maybe next year.....I always say that, huh?
