Jon Cole Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 That... is one sweet ElCam! Perfect color. Perfect skins.
70elcamino Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 You did great, wish my 70 looked that good. Russell
oldscool Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 That is a beautiful El Camino and it sits just right. oldscool
Guest Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 That is one really sweet build! Those wheels really set off the black on black, great job!
Peter Lombardo Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Wow, that is nice. Very subtle and tasteful. I really like the vinyl roof on this...this is a very real looking build. I know I have seen that car on the road many times back in the day.
Railfreak78 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Very nice those wheels lookg great with the black and chrome. I'm a big fan of these trucks and you did this one very well.
James2 Posted March 12, 2010 Author Posted March 12, 2010 Thanks guys. The vinyl roof was done with Tamiya Mat Black and before it dried I splattered some Semi Gloss at it from about 10" away. Up close it as a little texture to it and even gives off two shines, kind of like the real deal.
george 53 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 VERY nicely done James! How'd you get the dimples in the sailpanels(B-pillars) out? Either way, it came out NAZZ!!!!!
Mooneyzs Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Very Nice!!! I love this build as I am a BIG fan of El Camino's considering that I have a 1971 1:1 sitting in my garage. I love the stance, its perfect and the color looks great. Good Job on this build.
KarDude.com Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Excelente! Stunning paint job. Well done Sir.
Dragline Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Superb! How bout a few engine bay shots? I need to build one of these. Bob
gilsdropshop1 Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 love those elcos, and this one is one of the best i've seen great job!
Janne Herajärvi Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Your color choice for that is perfect!! Very nice and tasteful build
sjordan2 Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 That's about as good as it gets. Keep us informed with pictures of your other builds, current or past.
James2 Posted March 14, 2010 Author Posted March 14, 2010 Thanks again, here is the engine bay and under carriage. Not much detail except for some paint and washes.
Jordan White Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Looks sweet! Wheels look right at home. Only issue is that grille was used on the 1968 versions.
