Guest promodmerc Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 This is a tough one. I'm going to study it a bit before I answer. The bumper is what is throwing me off.
Stang67 Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 (edited) Hmmm weird? It reads like a model but the parts say real. The name plate looks small...OK Harry you got me. I don't usually blow them up in PhotoShop so I'm going with...The REAL DEAL. Edited May 24, 2010 by Stang67
Pete J. Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 (edited) A convertable eh? Don't recall ever seeing one of those. Got to go real. The glass and the eggcrate grill look very real to me. The only problem that I have is the picture looks distorted. It looks like it has been narrowed. It doesn't look wide enough for a car of that era, but that could be lens distortion. Don't know for sure. Just a plan WAG. Good pick Harry! Edited May 24, 2010 by Pete J.
highway Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 I think my winning streak (in real or model anyway) may come to an end this week! I usually get a visual cue in the pics, but this one makes it tough!
gbdolfans Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 (edited) OK Harry!! I have got this one nailed!!!! I can ID this as a Studebaker!!!! This game is not so hard. Seriously, this one is hard,so, I am going with REAL!!!! Edited May 24, 2010 by gbdolfans
Jim Gibbons Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Wow, this is a tough one. My first impression was model, but after looking at it, I have to agree with the polarized glass statement, and the fact that it appears to me that the steering wheel (it might be a "ghost" image from the glass pattern, though) is on the right hand side, makes me think this was an export car photographed from a museum collection.
Joe Handley Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 I'm going real here too, looks like it should be a die cast, but just looks too good to be one at the same time...........
bill w Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I have to say model, the gap between the hood and the fenders looks too big, and the top looks like a model. Bill
dimaxion Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 (edited) The color looks like real to me . The front splash plan and the spinner part of the grille look right for a 1950 . My Father owned a 1950 4 dr. My first girlfriend and I used to sit under the front grille gaurd and swing our feet hanging down from "the seat" . Thanx Harry .. Edited May 25, 2010 by dimaxion
sjordan2 Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 (edited) Well, I agree that the gaps in the hood fit don't look right, the top doesn't fit right, the rearview mirrors look very small and the chrome looks too shiny. Therefore, it's real. (Hey, it's 1950s Detroit Iron.) Edited May 25, 2010 by sjordan2
s10chevypu Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Don"t know why, but just had to say real on this one!!!!!!!!!!!!
Harry P. Posted May 28, 2010 Author Posted May 28, 2010 Final vote: 32 REAL, 19 MODEL. Which means... you guys got it! It's REAL! Auto ID Quiz coming MONDAY!
