Brett Barrow Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Tamiya USA's having a survey for new kit ideas - taking it earns you a 25% off coupon for use on the site. I voted for next year's Ducati MotoGP bike which will be ridden by Valentino Rossi You can take it here.
Eshaver Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I saw plenty of items for the Formula 1, military and I P M S crowd . Didn't see anything ole geezers like me would be interested in like a 58 Pontiac Bonniville Convertable with tri carbs , Varoommmmmmmmmmmmmm...............Ed Shaver
highway Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I see us 1/24(25) scale truck guys didn't get an opinion! I know Tamiya has made quite a few trucks in their R/C line I'd like to see in a kit form. I'd also would have liked to see more in the 1/25 scale military other than figures, too. I think they have done a couple 1/25 scale tanks from WWII, but I'd like to see a modern M1-A1 or M1-A2 Abrams tank in that scale. I'd love to have one as a load on a lowboy truck!
Zoom Zoom Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I couldn't complete the survey. There was absolutely nothing on that list that I look forward to. Nothing. Zero. Zip. Nada.
sjordan2 Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I couldn't complete the survey. There was absolutely nothing on that list that I look forward to. Nothing. Zero. Zip. Nada. However, they give you the opportunity to nominate what kits you'd like to see.
Brett Barrow Posted September 21, 2010 Author Posted September 21, 2010 There is a write-in box at the end for what you want them to do next. I'm not too exited about what they've got coming up either, except for the 09 Yamaha MotoGP bikes and the Rossi figure.
highway Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 By the way, I forgot I'd like to see the 1973 Ford Bronco in something other than R/C, too!
highway Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 There is a write-in box at the end for what you want them to do next. I didn't notice that, I might just have to mention what I did in my earlier posts!
george 53 Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Matt, the Franklin Mint has a Abrahms in 24th scale. I have two. They're about 200 bucks if I remember correctly. And yes, they DO look inpressive as a lowboy load. (Oh, the also offer a WWII Sherman, and a Hummer, all in 24th scale)

Even though, anything with "Mint" behind it is a little out of my price range!
Eric Stone Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Thanks George, I didn't know that. Even though, anything with "Mint" behind it is a little out of my price range! Even a peppermint...?
highway Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Even a peppermint...? You got me on that one, Eric!!
MoparWoman Jamie Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 You got me on that one, Eric!! I was wondering myself.
junkman1153 Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 the kit i would like to see done is a ford f series pickup 1967 to 1972 with either short bed stepside or fleetside. and the grilles for the different years
Kombi Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 I voted and suggested they produce a 1/24 Citroen DS19 or DS20 and a 1/24 Lotus Cortina. I'm pretty sure that's going to be a long shot. But hey, the coupon was a nice incentive.
Luc Janssens Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 I couldn't complete the survey. There was absolutely nothing on that list that I look forward to. Nothing. Zero. Zip. Nada. Bob, At the bottom of the new release listing, one can check the "other" box and list your favorite Tamiya model, or just write "none of the above"
Bill Eh? Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 I went to my first F1 Grand Prix races in '76. I saw the Canadian GP at Mosport and the US GP East at Watkins Glen. To me, choosing the 1/12 version of the McLaren M23 was a no-brainer. I just hope it would be the James Hunt version.
slapshot Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 I went with a 1950 studebaker bullet nose.
