Chuck Most Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 I've had this one in my stash for a while now, but I've finally concocted a plan for it! First off, I've got this crusty old bed from my spares box- which is in the paint stripper as I post this. I have no idea what kit it came from. (Anyone?) And, I've managed to test out some rollers, and the stance- It's a simple old curbside kit, so I think whatever I do will be an easy build, but the sheer "weirdness" of a Transit should make up for any lack of effort on my part!
george 53 Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Tub it Chuck, an jus pro street it out. it DOES need a BIG OL NASTY 429 Shotgun in it,though!
gray07 Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Alot of the revell van kits came with that bed, nice build i will be watching this

AzTom Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 This will be interesting, a Rat Rod parts chaser? AzTom
Chuck Most Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 I think I'm going to 'backdate' the front end to an older model, or run a '70's style custom van grille. I'm kind of going for a mildly updated "Shaggin' Wagon" with this one.
charlie8575 Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Okay, this is officially amusing. Who made this kit? Charlie Larkin
RodneyBad Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Okay, this is officially amusing. Who made this kit? Charlie Larkin ESCI made the kit..(that is one I have) As Low as ya can go Stance is always a good stance.. Soo ya makin a Shaggin Wagon?
Chuck Most Posted October 11, 2010 Author Posted October 11, 2010 A little bit o' progress to report.... The Revell Van bed is now in place- And I've begun work on filling the driver's side cargo door... ...and opening it's companion on the passenger's side. I even managed to do a fit check- looks like I'll need to finish off that door jamb, as well as some other open spots revealed by the opening rear hatch.
Chuck Most Posted September 9, 2013 Author Posted September 9, 2013 Well? After a three- year hiatus, this project is facing a complete reboot. Now I'm thinking something more along these lines-
hjracing Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Really cool project! I like to see euro vans whit the custom touch!
66belair Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Great ideas, I never realized Ford had been using the transit name for so long.
slusher Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Very cool idea and project Chuck. l have never seen a bed like that. Keep up the good work..
Chuck Most Posted September 9, 2013 Author Posted September 9, 2013 The beginnings of the new cab and frame-
Foxer Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Well? After a three- year hiatus, this project is facing a complete reboot. Now I'm thinking something more along these lines- I'd like this if the bed remained ... I could always use a hook to get ME out of the sack!
Tom Geiger Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 "The biggest problem with quotes on the internet is that they are often attributed to the wrong person." - Thomas Edison I thought Ben Franklin said that!
Chuck Most Posted September 10, 2013 Author Posted September 10, 2013 I thought Ben Franklin said that! Actually it was Lincoln, but Edison's paraphrase of the original quote is the one most often cited.
