Maybe Matt , but I never intended it to be the longest one for me. This kit is the AMT's Tin Indian that I wish I had the decals for. I used them on a 65 GTO when I was over there. Dan

RyanSilva Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Ever since my resin casting took over..I rarely build, but I do make some spare time for mock ups. I need to get back in the groove though! Here are a few over the years ..
whale392 Posted November 5, 2010 Author Posted November 5, 2010 Man, there are some really nice unfinished projects/concepts here! I feel like I am in good company. P.S: You're welcome Dan! Maybe seeing some of these will get some of mine done.

DRG Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 This is a great thread, though I'm not sure it's better than Workbench Saturday's. I have currently three builds that have been set aside because of different problems. I was feeling a little guilty about that and the fact that I have a stash of fifteen models. Not feeling so guilty now, thank's guys. You have more stalled projects than I have models.
Darin Bastedo Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 What I love about this thread is that I find it more inspiring to see stalled projects rather than the in-progress / under glass stuff. Many of the projects that get stalled are that way because the envelope got pushed just a bit too far leading to some really innovative ideas, that may never have seen the light of day otherwise.
fatkidd Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 all right...i play. here's a few that i've stalled on. AMT 55 cameo truckster chopped top dodge van viper powered AMT 40 ford delivery AMT 2006 Camaro Concept bagged silverado fujimi CRX Si they are stalled for one reason or the other. most are that i temporarily (read:indefinitely) lost interest in that particular project. the CRX is in a permanent state of stalled as i got a few drops of laquer thinner on the "glass" and ruined it. i have tried and tried to wet sand the problem away to no avail. there are a few more projects in the works, but i'll save those for another day. happy modeling

Scott Colmer Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 This is a great thread. I've always liked looking at in progress stuff. Here are mine main ones. My apologies if you have seen them before. Most are stalled for 15 years or more. I actually do have one project at a time on the bench. The problem is the desire to just see what an idea looks like pushes projects aside. Sometimes, I commit to a favor or contest and then my current project looses it's spot. All of these are in line to be finished as spare time permits. I stalled on this one when the bodywork got tiresome and I had an engineering problem with the front suspension. The suspension problem is figured out. It's 4th in line for the bench in 2011. Hosted on Fotki This was an asymtrical styling project. The engine is 1/2 a hemi. Each side will have a diffrent look. The side with the blower will be wilder than the other. It stalled when another project took its place. Hosted on Fotki This one stalled because I could not figure out how to make the finned valve covers I wanted. A while back Mike Flynn explained how to make them. Once I have time and a photo etch kit, I'll try again. Hosted on Fotki Failed valve cover. Hosted on Fotki This one is at least 20 years old now. It's third in line for 2011. The chassis is scratchbuilt because I wanted it to be unboxed. It stalled and got revived and stalled again when another project took it's place. Hosted on Fotki Thanks for letting me share. I am looking forward to seeing more. Scott
runsw/scissors Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I anly have 8 stalled ( sorry no pictures ). The oldest is a Datsun, not a Nissan, that I started in 1983. I cut the front suspension loose and was going to scratch build better ones. WAY OVER MY HEAD!!!! Nuff said?
whale392 Posted November 15, 2010 Author Posted November 15, 2010 There are some REALLY NICE stalled projects here that would look good (done) in the light of day! Awesome, and thanks for sharing in this thread with me.
Draggon Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 These all stalled for pretty much the same reason....I liked the overall ideas but part way through I found things I didnt like and wanted to change. [ I need to shorten the wheelbase behind the cab on this one. Weathered this one after I took these pics and didnt like how it came out. I also screwed up on the radius rods for the front axle and they didn't fit well nor look good. I had this close to finished but burnt through the paint polishing it. It's now in primer. And finally this. A severe glue bomb off ebay. I patched the chassis and engine back together as best I could, but it's still real rough. I spent a lot of time fixing the mess the body was in, then decided it was too good to put on that junky chassis.

59 Impala Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Brad, is that the "NEW" Buick for the club that I just saw on here? Looks great. I have more stalled projects. All of these in the next pictures need finished with the exception of a couple. One day they will get done. Dan
